Don't start talking about him like he's the champion again just because of tonight.

Thanks,

Management

Fwiw Burton is saying he thinks he'll end up here

I don't want anyone who doesn't have a reputation elite recruiting. I've seen no evidence Tom Herman does. And don't fricking start with Ed Oliver and all that bullshite. Look at what he has in 2016 and it speaks volumes - he does fine, but he isn't going to outperform those cheating motherfrickers we have in the SEC West.

So assuming we aren't firing Sumlin this year, he must be referring to next year?

Does this assume Texas does not fire Strong this year, or that Texas has gotten spooked at the idea of Herman and wants to go after someone like Les Miles or some other similar coach?

Herman has done better than both Briles and Sumlin in terms of wins at UH, but I'm not a believer that will translate to success in our conference without recruiting.

I'd be shocked if we fired Sumlin.

Would not be shocked at all if Herman chose us over UT though.

He's recruiting better than Briles and Sumlin did at UH. He almost got Andrew Luck to commit to Rice when he was an assistant there.

I don't know why you'd be concerned about Herman's recruiting. I think he'd be the best recruiting coach we've had in the last 15 years, and we already recruit at a decent level

If he gets run over by LSU Thanksgiving night, I wouldn't consider it anything more than a toss up he returns. Pretty much the only thing saving him at that point would be his buyout.

I don't. There's too much head scratcher moves he has made (or rumored to have made).

He got into a media feud with a radio station because of a few technicalities. He kisses his players (I know, we gay...but not IRL). And UofH boards rumored that he told his team before the Navy game that he was indeed leaving UofH at the end of the season.

Another thing to take notice is that he didn't build this team. It was all the work of Tony Levine who developed and created the foundation for the defense they have today. I'd like to see him take a broken team and fix it. It would be easier to do in the weak Big12, especially since Baylor is now down and Texas Tech may start fresh.

All of those reasons are why I'd prefer Chad Morris. Houston is an easy place to win. Herman inherited a team that won 8 games two years in a row and brought everyone back.

Meanwhile Chad brought a program back from the grave and had them fighting for a bowl not to mention the h2h.

I think as an offensive mind and recruiter Morris and Herman are equal but Morris has shown me more as a program manager.

If Chad wins out, I'd be open to settling for Chad with Chavis as his DC. Chad should be able to recruit very well in this state, including replenishing the defense that Sumlin neglected in the recruiting trail. I think I read or heard somewhere that SMU was the only program in NCAA to only have recruited 100% Texas talent the past two years.

I like that.

Why does Burton not think Herman will end up at UTx?

Chavis sucks without blue chips all over the field.
