I didn't expect Dallas to be the 2nd best pitcher in the AL this year.

But then again I didn't expect Carter, Valbuena, and Singleton to suck so damn bad.

I like our chances of winning the division. I'm not so sure the #2 team in our division makes the WC with as strong as the AL East. Those arse holes may get 3 teams in the playoffs.

Remaining we have:
22 road games
20 home games
25 are within the division
23 are under .500 (but TB, MIN, & AZ are a combined 4 games under .500)

I am predicting a 89-73 finish. Go-go will come around and Springer will be back.

Of course not. But I can actually enjoy watching him more because he is not in the division

Today is the anniversary (1951) of the only Major League at bat of 43-inch-tall Eddie Gaedel. He walked.

O's with a walk-off solo shot to beat the Mets 5-4. Henry Urrutia's first major league homer.

quote:

He leads AL rookies in SLUG, OBP, OPS (duh), and is 2nd in RBI & HRs (will surpass both soon. He has fewer ABs).

He leads AL SS in SLUG, OBP, OPS (duh again), HR, and is 4th in RBIs. Again he has fewer ABs.

What a difference a day makes.

He now is tied for the lead in RBIs and HRs for AL rookies.

Heard an interview with the Angles beat writer yesterday. He said they were dead in the water. That the team is in pretty bad shape internally. Said the root of the issue goes back to how they handled getting rid of Hamilton. That is one strange organization.

As Mike Leach once said about the A&M football team, there does appear to be some "dysfunction" in Anaheim.

Mike Fiers throws a no-hitter as the Astros defeat the Dodgers 3-0.

Not a bad night against a team with a $300 million dollar payroll.

Not a bad night for a player most viewed upon as an afterthough in the Carols Gomez trade.

Speaking of that trade, Domingo Santana went yard in his first game since being called up from the Brewers farm system.

Saw the end of the game last night after I watched the Rangers. It is always special to see it happen. Congrats Fiers and stros fans

I was so ecstatic for Fiers last night. He was a guy only brought in to be the 5th starter so McCullers could rest his rookie arm before the last season run. To go from #6 to no hitter is pretty special. The emotions postgame was awesome.

Today we McCullers vs Kershaw. Potential for a classic with how goo they are and how poorly LAD & HOU have been hitting the last couple.

So this home stand included 4 walk offs and a no hitter. That was fun.

Dallas throws Tuesday. Watch out, Yanks.
