Oh, didn't know that. Even so, the "Spurs are old and boring" articles would come back with a vengeance.

I didn't even know Dallas had an NBA team until 1 or 2 years ago.

SAS not looking great through the first. Damn it sucks to play west coast teams. 930 tip is brutal.

Yayyyyy let's foul DeAndre a million times at the end of each quarter. I get why they do it and he should be able to hit free throws, but this is unbearable to watch and I'll probably go to bed instead of staying up to watch

It's a rule that needs to be changed. Nobody outside of San Antonio or LA is going to stay up to watch a free throw contest featuring DeAndre Jordan.

That being said, I'm going to go to bed now

I really don't. I have a hard time questioning Pop but think it's a dumb strategy.

So far in this game on the Hack-a-Jordan they've picked up no points as Deandre is 4 for 8 (and Spurs Def Efficiency is 102 so you would expect about 1.02 points per trip or 4). For that they've put themselves in foul trouble among bigs.

Chances are they are gaining about a point at best using it and giving away needless fouls. Seems like a bad gamble since Duncan was already in foul trouble. If this is a close game at the end, they have multiple guys that are likely going to be playing Ole defense to stay on the court and all bets are off if it goes OT.

The strategy makes sense if you are losing bad and want to take a gamble to change the flow or hope to get lucky Jordan misses a bunch in a row. It makes far less sense if you are in the game and in foul trouble already.

Hack-a-____ isn't really about gaining points. It's about disrupting rhythm and taking the ball out of the hands of the opponent's playmakers.

So not to read into just one game but let me read into one game...

Only 1 team in Texas with a W. It just happens to be the team with home court. Maybe it matters?

I cannot wait until the GS v HOU WCF.

Another 20 years will be a long wait for you.

I was watching most of the game last night, (and assuming we dispose of the Mavs), I'm not sure who I would rather see in round 2. San Antonio has had our number lately, but the Clips look like a matchup nightmare. Either option poses a big time challenge

If I didn't already say it, I would much perfer the Spurs, but I expect LAC to win.

Spurs just had their meds a little off, they'll stop by the Home for the Aging BB player and the docs will get the meds right, feed em some geritol and they'll be right as rain. Really old rain that is

Did it achieve those goals yesterday in the late 2Q?

The Spurs were in a funk and got down 12 at the end of 1Q (18-30). Hack-a-Jordan started at the 1:34 mark in the 2Q with the score 41-45. Who's rhythm were they attempting to disrupt? The 2Q was the best the Spurs played all game and to that point they were +8. The next 4 trips they hacked Jordan, he hit 4 of 8 FTs and the half ended with a 5 point deficit.

And CP3 wasn't even in the game so they were actually taking the ball out of Austin Rivers hands. I get why you might want to do it at times. I don't get why you would want to do it there and then

He just wanted everyone asleep in SAS so they wouldn't see him lose at 1:30 when it finally ended.

I would think Hou would prefer SA over LAC.

We beat Dallas's arse so bad we made Chandler quit. He's questionable for game 2.

Chandler Parsons or Tyson Chandler? Parsons is important to Dallas but this series is officially over if Tyson Chandler isn't playing.
