My guess:

Kyler Murray - This will depend on whether he gets drafted and signs a pro baseball contract. I don't see how we can redshirt him with just Allen and McQueen on scholarship. PLAY

Jay Bradford - Between him and Bussey, one will play significantly on special teams, but we'll primarily use Carson, Williams, and White at RB. I think Bussey is the one who plays. REDSHIRT.

Kendall Bussey - See Bradford

Christian Kirk - He could be starting by the end of the Spring if he passed Tabuyo up. START

Damion Ratley - JUCO skill players don't commit to Kevin Sumlin to redshirt. PLAY

Kemah Siverand - I'd say redshirt, but Jeffery played last year. Still saying REDSHIRT

Jordan Davis - PLAY...a lot. STARTING TE

All OL - REDSHIRT. Even the two JUCOs redshirted last year. We're deep enough on OL. MAYBE one plays like Gustafson did, but I doubt it.

James Lockhart - PLAY. He may end up starting at SDE by the end of the year.

Daylon Mack - START...but not until the middle of the season (like Myles Garrett)

Kingsley KeKe - PLAY. Unless Washington, Manning, Walker, Henderson, and Arnold are all much better, he plays.

Claude George - START

Richard Moore, Landis Durham, Dwayne Thomas - PLAY. Pretty much every linebacker but Garner is guaranteed to play

Riley Garner - Redshirt based on his recovery

All DBs - PLAY. Evans, Dunning, and Pryor are all candidates to start...Elam and DCS will play.

LaCamera - Depends on whether or not 2012 Bertolet or 2015 Bertolet shows up. If it's the former, he'll start at PK. If it's the latter, he redshirts. I say REDSHIRT.

It's fun to have all of this to think about.
I really hope that LaCamera is ready to go, in case TB can't get it done. Kicking game and special teams are always woefully underrated in terms of what actually wins (or, more often, loses) football games.

If Bertolet hasn't worked out all the psychology by next September then he's a kickoff specialist til the cows come home. I'm willing to wager that he's going to be solid next year.

If he's good after 3 games then redshirt the Camera. You can always pull a redshirt if you have to.

As far as the DB's: For God's sake let them all try! Let them all have as many series as possible during the first 3 games.

My guess:

Kyler Murray - Redshirt.

Kendall Bussey - Play. Mainly bc of 2016 and Trey leaving

Christian Kirk - He could be starting by the end of the Spring if he passed Tabuyo up. START

All OL - OL is the biggest concern going into next year. It's hard to know how good our current players are, but outside of Ifedi and Matthews there's concerns. Hopefully freshman aren't needed

James Lockhart - Redshirt and possibly change positions to MLB. It kinda makes sense with the 2016 talent pool being DL heavy

Daylon Mack - START...but not until the middle of the season (like Myles Garrett)

Kingsley KeKe - PLAY if Washington and Manning are busts. If one steps up he redshirts

Claude George, Richard Moore, Landis Durham, Dwayne Thomas - Each has a chance to play. We're desperate. The EE's have the inside shot

All DBs - PLAY. Evans, Dunning, and Pryor are all candidates to start...Elam and DCS will play. No choice with how poorly last year went

LaCamera - REDSHIRT.

I really hope Murray redshirts, but if Allen struggles consequently early and often, I wouldn't be surprised if he's given the key to the Ferrari so to speak.

The only ones definitely not redshirting are Mack, Lockhart, Kirk, and Jordan Davis. Everyone could theoretically.

I have a hard time seeing Lockhart coming in August and recieving any playing time.

DL

WDE: Garrett/Hall
DT: Mack/Walker
NT: Williams/Henderson
SDE: Obioha/Cunningham

Also Johnson, Arnold, Washington, Manning, Jackson, Chevis fighting for what little playing time after our top 8. A 3rd unit of Johnson/Washington/Manning/Jackson or whoever ends up being best would make for a very salty DL.

Not sure why it wouldn't be more beneficial for Lockhart and KeKe to both redshirt

A) I really hope Murray is a college football player in 2015, first and foremost.

B) Sumlin always practices an open season approach to starting positions. I predict a late- (if not last-) minute decision next year re our starting QB.

C) You can't enter a season in the SECw without a viable backup. We need them both.

D) Imagine the potent ramifications of being able to play Allen for 2 1/2 quarters and then bringing in the dual threat Murray once the opposing defense has shown adjustment. I'm not a proponent of the 2-QB system by any means, but I'm not opposed to it, either. (Though Sumlin certainly appears to be).

Sumlin already said Murray isn't going to redshirt.

Murray: I'd like to see him redshirt. He most likely will not but it'd be nice to see. After our first 3 games, we hit the ground running so he will be useless in SEC games and if KA starts doing terrible (he wont) then we can always pull Kylers redshirt. Redshirting makes sense but Sumlin wont use it on him. PLAY

Mack: Immediate impact player. He'll start our first SEC game in Dallas against Ark and wont lose the job until he leaves for the NFL. START

Kirk: Another immediate impact guy. Many believe if he was at least 6 feet tall that he would've been the number 1 receiver in the class. Understands the game very well. More polished than many, if not all, of our receivers. Kirk will fill Kennedy's role. He will be KA's 3rd down (4-5 yds to go) go to guy. Kirk will have a monster first season. START

Agree w/ these exceptions (subject to change in event of injuries to players ahead of them in the 2-deep):

Lockhart and Keke: Think they redshirt. We are actually extremely deep on the DL for the first time since I don't know when. Daylon plays because he's on another level.

Moore/Durham/Thomas - I think at least one of these guys takes an RS. Maybe two. With Shaan/Hilliard/Alaka/Walker/Claude ahead of them, we can afford to let some put some more meat on their bones. And call me crazy, I still haven't given up on Mastro.

If Watts gets moved back to CB, then I could see all three Safeties playing. Otherwise, Donovan Wilson will allow one of them to RS.

Look at it this way. If Allen gets injured, who goes in? McQueen or Murray? Almost 100% it'll be Murray. Which means you don't redshirt him, you get him mop-up series so he's not a deer in the headlights if that moment ever comes.

Murray has said in one of the signing-day interviews that he's not redshirting.

I'm sure that Coach assured Kyler that he would have every opportunity to be the starting QB on the opening game of 2015. And I'm sure that Coach intends to back the promise.
