If we WOULD have left the state maybe we would be in a state where the high school players aren't soft finesse pussies.

Lol I wish my school had Texas talent in their backyard. The right coach will turn those pussies into some warriors. Position coaches and the way they practice needs to be evaluated.

You say that but the state of Texas has one national title the last 40 years for a reason. Our talent is crazy overrated.

No, our takent is dilluted.

Louiaiana has one worthwhile university. Alabama has two. Etcetera throughout the SEC. Then there is Texas with at least half a dozen good or decent schools fishing the same talent pool.

We really shouldn't have hired a Conference USA/Big 12 type of coach for a physical SEC. Sumlin might be killing it if we were in the Big 12 still. SEC is a different game and you have to play good run D.

That is the truth.

Go look at the top 50 defenses in the NCAA. There are zero Power 5 Texas teams in that list.

Our state is a disaster for recruiting defensive talent.

There is plenty of good defensive talent in Texas, and plenty of athletes that could be playing defense. Plenty of them on good defenses across the country. PLENTY. Sad.

Defense isn't our only issue though. We didn't score points until lsu let us.

For the fourth season in a row we've gotten less physical and Less disciplined. Every year it seems like we have tells by midseason and other teams know what we're doing and we're unable to adjust.

I know we have to review film and self scout but man it doesn't look like it sometimes.

Claude George said they were surprised and guice was better than they expected. Lol.

of all the complaints about Sumlin that has to be one of the silliest. Saban started in the MAC, Urban came from the MWC, Spurrier came from Duke etc etc...

Les Miles was an average coach in the big 12 and did great at LSU for 10 years.

All things are relative. Gotta find a guy over achieving and a fit to what talent you can provide.

LSU showed plenty of finesse too. Those WRs were making some nice catches over the top of our weak arse corners. I think LSU deliberately checked out of run plays every time they saw DCS entered the game.

Still think we will be "fine with Sumlin"?
