That's the point.

Raping below-average teams (even though under the last three years of Kennedy those were close games) is not enough for me to drink the Kool-Aid.

Here's some cold hard facts:

Before the annual winter tournaments, under Kennedy, the Ags are 14-0 in regular season nonconference play.

During and after the winter tournaments, the Ags are 25-13 in regular season nonconference play.

I'm not holding my breath.

I can completely understand the apprehension, but this is going to be a really good team. Kennedy almost has too many options, and some guys might get upset at their lack of playing time. The good thing is we have so many guys that can score that if one gets hurt (like house last year) someone else will be able to fill that gap without the offense coming to a complete standstill.

Finally had a chance to watch the game against unc-Asheville, and really the only negative I can take away from that game is we allowed way too many second chance opportunities for them when it came down to rebounding. But that seems like a petty gripe given the fact that we had held them to something like 37 points with under 4 min to play. So if they can clean up the rebounding a bit, which they will need to against closer competition, there aren't too many negatives. Free throws again were an issue this game but that's mainly because Thomas took the majority of them. If I'm an opposing team I'm fouling him every time he gets the ball down low.

I would also like to see us run more plays for Hogg to find open looks for him, and I think we are doing that at times. He will just have to get better at running around getting open and coming off of screens effectively.

Oh, and make more of a deliberate effort to get the ball inside to Tyler Davis. Good things happen with him down low. If he's double teamed he sees the court well enough to hit the other big guy for an easy bucket, or kick it outside for an open shooter. More often than not he makes the smart play.

I'm excited for this tournament, and the season. They are fun to watch and hopefully the fans take notice as the season moves along and we can make Reed a tough place to play once again.



Edit: I reserve the right to melt if we lose to tu, and have a bad showing in the tournament.

Anyone have any alternative ideas on how to view the game tomorrow night vs. Texas? It appears to be on AXS? I have never heard of this channel.

Zags are wiping out a team Texas lost to right now. Can't wait for the game tonight. Hopefully I can find it on the television somewhere (gonna be watching the UGA game on the computer).

I don't have this channel. Who's ever even heard of this channel anyways? Hopefully someone streams it or ESPN3 carries it.
