After realizing my five years of A&M football were a little rough outside of the road games I attended, I wanted some redemption. I got lucky with the basketball team, so let's hear it:

From 2005 through 2009:

Acie Law: Captain Clutch was such a joy to watch game in and game out
Joseph Jones: For a guy that could barely jump, he was a force down low.
Bryan Davis: See Joseph Jones
DeAndre Jordan: Always a highlight waiting to happen
Derrick Roland Although he didn't play much under Billy G, coach always went for those tough-nosed players. Roland always left everything out there.

Games

2006 vs. Texas:Acie buzzer beater. Yes, I was one of the first on the court.
2007 @ Kansas: My dad's friend got me tickets so I could go see a game at the Phog. Acie left me very happy
2007 @ Texas: Probably Acie's best game despite in a losing effort
2008 vs. Baylor:5 overtimes and running home in the rain never made McDonald's taste so good before
2008 @ Baylor: Went knowing this team would be pissed after the game mentioned right above. The Sloan dunk proved it

I was in from 1996-2000.

Only memorable player was Gerald Brown. Only memorable game was 2000 Ok. State.

Yeah that one was very close to making my list. It was either that game or another game they lost at Reed, but I know Barnes was pissy most of the game and myself and those around me never let up on him. After the game when they were leaving, one of the assistant's said "F*** You" as they were walking out.

One of the top moments of my College Station tenure

Oh now that's sweet

To this day, though, I wish I could have been in attendance for The Baptism. Never has a collegiate basketball victory brought me such joy

My two Baylor buddies that I went to the game with looked over at me in my all maroon attire and went "Let's get you out of here" and we took off quickly afterwards

Bet that was a fun night to be an Ag in Waco, tho. And by "fun," I mean "harrowing."

My basketball years were 1990-91 (Kermit Davis one season) through 1994-95. We made the NIT in 1993-94, but I'm not sure I could name a player on that team.

Players:

1. Brooks Thompson - left A&M after Davis was fired in 1991 and transferred to OK State. He was on the Orlando Magic roster when the Rockets played them in the 1995 playoffs.

2. Fast Freddie Ricks - Sat behind me in history class spring 1991 and asked to cheat off of me. I told him I had a 'D' in the class and that he should probably find someone else.

3. I remember having a player named "Shedrick" on that 1990-91 team.

Big Wins:

Couldn't name one

I second all of this. Football sucked but it was a great time to be a Bball fan at BCS.

It was one of those moments where I wanted to stick around to soak in the moment, but I also recognized it was in my best interest to get the hell outta there

Honestly I'd take a strong bball program over football but I know I'm in the minority. Words can't describe how much I would have loved seeing the baptism live

Im not gonna lie. I heavily enjoyed Gillispie's era. I remember my freshmen year they had to come up with a drawing system to pull bball tickets. Exciting times esptecially with the football program being down. One could say some people completely forgot about football.
