Realistically we need Clemson or Washington to still lose, Washington will jump us if they win out

I'm not sure about that honestly. 11-1 is better than 7-1 and we'd have beaten Lsu

Dude, I get to root like hell for Mike Leach to send A&M to the CFB playoff.

I'm giddy

If we go 11-1 I'll be happy whatever the outcome. I'm still skeptical we can beat LSU.

Washington's biggest problem right now is their schedule.

Their only win over a ranked opponent is #17 Utah. Their only ranked team remaining is #25 Washington State.

Here's where the problem comes in:

Between now and the Apple Cup:

Washington State still plays Colorado
Colorado still plays Washington State and Utah
Utah still plays Colorado

The BEST case scenario for Washington is for Colorado to run the table and win the South, BUT that causes Utah to have 3 losses and Washington State to have 4 losses if Washington runs the table.

For Washington to then win the PAC 12 with 13 wins, they wouldn't have a single win over a team with fewer than 3 losses.

Negative

We could win the national title and my opinion of Sumlin would change very little. Which is why I'm so doubtful it will happen, because only rarely have average or below average coaches won national titles.

I think Clemson could lose to USC. They lost a bunch of talent last year and have been playing down to competition all season.

I'm just pumped to hear fans from Texas and Tech bitch about this at work the rest of the week instead of discussing their battle for bowl eligibility

The early rankings mean very little so wtv

If I'm honest I don't believe for a second we're the fourth best team in the country. Washington, Clemson and Michigan would all beat us soundly more often than not because their defenses can squash our limited offense and our defense is only above average on good days.

We simply don't have the ability to consistently threaten great defenses.

I disagree on Washington for sure and probably Clemson. We are without a doubt the more talented team than Washington overall but Browning is legit. It would be a very good game. Clemson has played to their competition all year, I also think that would be close

I know you get your rocks off on being a contrarian on here though so have at it

Well, you didn't.

We could win a national championship and you'll find something to go full Debbie downer on. Just enjoy the moment, especially when you consider a lot of us didn't even expect to reach 8 wins this year. Sumlin has overachieved this year fo sho'.
