So I realize Sumlin has it sweet at aTm and has largely been in the Texas/Oklahoma for most if not all of his career, etc. (for recruiting purposes)

Y'all think there is any chance of a flight risk of him going to USC? They have a ton of money, Southern Cal, great tradition, etc.

Personally I don't think so.

No If that was going to happen it would have been after 2012.

Always a chance in any situation I suppose, but I think if he was going to go, it would have been last time.

there is less than a zero chance. there is a greater chance of me fricking a victoria secret angel every night for the rest of my life, me throwing the game winning touchdown pass in OT of the superbowl, AND become a platinum selling artist than sumlin leaving for USC

Absolutely zero chance. Not worried in the slightest.

There's a reason we upped his salary last round. He's not going anywhere.

Sumlin leaving is about as likely as me not watching this Saturday's game, safety and health permitting.

Tbh, Get the frick outta here with this shite. Nobody here thinks he would leave since he's already turned them down once. And you've stated you don't think he leaves. So why start a thread about it?

Because it's fun to speculate and fun to rile you up. Just a guess.

If you Google some quotes (from the TAMU powers that be) made right around the time Sumlin's salary was increased, you'll see that this was/is the exact reason he was given the raise--to demonstrate the university's commitment to Sumlin, as well as to fend off the neighborhood dogs.

As misguided as others (tSECr posters) thought the move was, we're about to see the beginnings and benefits of A&M's business foresight.

I'm not riled up, the thread is an obvious troll piece. It's just tiresome. Especially when there's a multi page thread on the rant where he could have had his fun.

I don't see how OP could have walked on egg shells any more than he did. He also said he didn't think it would happen.

Looks like he wanted to have a legit discussion to get our pulse on the issue without all the rant flaming.

No need to get butthurt.

Current recruits don't remember the last time SoCal was great and don't care about Rose Bowl wins from 20-30 years ago.

Comparison of Going USC v. Staying at A&M:

1. L.A. v. College Station -- Advantage, USC... I guess.

Crime, cost of living, state income taxes, worst traffic in the world, pollution like a mo-fricker, and a goose-stepping red army communist government would turn me the frick off, but that's just me.

2. Recruiting -- Push

Texas is slightly better than California. We also recruit well in Louisiana, which is loaded with talent.

3. Money -- frick USC. We got more.

4. Conference -- A&M...not even close

5. Facilities -- A&M and it's not even fricking close

6. Current Situation -- A&M...USC is a train wreck right now.

7. TV Exposure -- A&M, easily. West coast start time suck donkey balls.

8. Tradition -- USC

9. History -- USC

10. Media Dick Sucking -- USC by a hard, throbbing, veiny mile

So, when one looks at it objectively, is USC really a better job right now? I don't think so, but I can see the arguments in USC's favor. They have had to hire some shitty coaches recently, so I don't know that available coaches really think it's that good of a job.
