Looking at each game in a vacuum, how would you rank a potential win on a personal satisfaction basis?

UCLA (H)
Auburn (A)
Arkansas (N)
USC (A)
Tennessee (H)
Alabama (A)
Miss St (A)
Ole Miss (H)
LSU (H)

My answer:

1. UCLA - Haven't won a big game at Kyle the past 5 seasons. 1st game in 8 months, so opening week always seems important. And the fanbase will probably burn everything down if we don't get out to a hot start

2. Alabama - wins over the reigning king always seem to stand out. And no shame in losing to the best.

3. LSU - 5 straight losses, nothing more needs to be said

4. Ole Miss - been embarrassed by OM two straight years

5. Tennessee - potentially a lot of hype surrounding this game. And we owe them for the Cotton Bowl a decade ago.

6. Arkansas - would only care about keeping our winning streak alive

7. Auburn - already won twice at Jordan-Hare

8. USC - down this low because no one will care about this game, but it would be nice to finally see Sumlin beat Muschamp

9. Miss St - whatever

Maybe not what you had in mind but:

UCLA (H) 7
Auburn (A) 6
Arkansas (N) 4
USC (A) 8
Tennessee (H) 3
Alabama (A) 2
Miss St (A) 9
Ole Miss (H) 5
LSU (H) 1

I don't get what the letters are for so I will use a 1-10 scale.

UCLA (9) - if we lose the season is lost. We need some positive momentum early.

Auburn (7) - would be lower but I expect them to have a rough year and it sucks to lose to sucky teams

Arkansas (10) - I will be there, is a longer drive, therefore would be nice to win

USC (10) - frick Coach Boom it's time to beat him

Tennessee (4) - would be nice but is the kind of game people would call a "good loss" afterwards

Alabama (1) - anything higher means I have my hopes hung on winning which is folly

Miss St (8) - They are gonna suck and I hate losing games we should win

Ole Miss (3) - not hyped up for this game, would actually be more fun if NCAA drops hammer first

LSU (7) - you would think with my LSU family and our recent lack of success against them it would be higher, but I fear LSU being the seventh win that keeps Sumlin's job or some BS like that. We don't need another sips, too many Aggies try to transpose sip hate into LSU hate.

1. Arkansas - It would be so embarrassing to lose to the Pigs. I just hate them for some reason. I can't explain it. I do not want The Streak to end.

2. Alabama - Always nice to beat the King

3. LSU - 5 straight losses, nothing more needs to be said.

4. Ole Miss - We've been embarrassed by OM two straight years. They are massive cheaters who I would relish beating.

5. Tennessee - I want revenge for that Cotton Bowl. I was there for the de-pantsing of Fran and my dreams. It still stings.

6. UCLA - Not a recruiting opponent, not in our conference or anywhere near it, we've won the 'big opening game' the past two years and it hasn't meant squat, but they're still somewhat of a 'helmet' school, sorta, I guess.

7. Auburn - I pretty much expect this win. I don't really hate Auburn.

8. USC - No one will care. They will suck. But, I also think it would be nice to beat Muschamp, who is an open Aggy-hater.

9. Miss St - Whatever

UCLA (H) very badly, 1st game is so important for team confidence
Auburn (A) badly, losing to Auburn would be so embarrassing for our players
Arkansas (N) same as Auburn
USC (A) expect to win
Tennessee (H) want a good hard fought game
Alabama (A) want a good hard fought game
Miss St (A) expect to win
Ole Miss (H) same as Auburn
LSU (H) want a good hard fought game

Didn't think about it this way and you have a point.

6. UCLA - Not a recruiting opponent,

Seems like we've lost at least 4 or 5 big targets to them the last few cycles

Would you really classify losing to Arkansas, Auburn or Ole Miss as embarrassing?

They've done well in Houston and Louisiana beating us out for LBs. I think that was mostly their OL coach Klemm landing those guys, and I believe he ran into some NCAA trouble.

I was pretty happy when we beat Arkansas and MIZZOU at home in 2012. We hadn't beaten those teams in what seemed like a long while. I think there is a bunch of revisionist history out there to support some narratives that people want to push about the A&M program.

I don't think mizzou or Arkansas were ranked at that time.

This UCLA game is way bigger.

Yes

Arkansas and Auburn haven't got near the talent on the field as we do this year

And we should never ever lose to a mississipi school again, ever

Missouri finished that year 5-7 and Arkansas with an interim coach finished 4-8. But I could totally see how an SECSECSEC mouth breather like yourself would think that's some sort of accomplishment

This post seems completely detached from reality. We can act like we are above these guys, but Auburn and Ole Miss have accomplished more than we have recently. And Arkansas has a better coach than we do who puts out stronger teams than we do (although he is prone to embarrassing losses, like Toledo)

Based on chill's post (and his posting in general), I stand by what I said.
