This is a surprise to me, given TK's middling completion percentage.

Trevor Knight completion percentage (first 3 games): 52.9%
All 3 QB in 2015 completion % (first 3 games): 60.2%
Trevor Knight has 830 passing yards through 3 games. Allen, Murray, and Hubenak COMBINED had 754 through 3 games.
Knight has 2 INT in 3 games this year.
Allen had 3 and Murray had 2 after 3.

First three games this year were better completion than last year

It ain't pretty, but Knight is getting the job done

Zero turnovers vs an Auburn secondary that everyone on the AggyArk was saying was soo good.

Keep the turnovers to a minimum and clean up the execution in the red zone and we've got something going

Thanks for putting this together

We were an easy dropped pass and a quarter of an inch out of bounds away from really dumpstering Auburn. Just tighten up the slightest bit and we would be talking about how blew them out. I feel way more confident now than I did to start the year, and entirely more than last year.

You are correct, easily a 40+ to 10 point game with some reasonable officiating as well

Thanks for the breakdown. I think this offense can get much better.

Lets dive deeper into this.
2015 - ASU(neutralish), Ball St, Neveda
2016 - UCLA, PVAM, @AUB
If I am ranking these opponents it goes UCLA, Auburn, ASU, Neveda, Ball State, PVA&M.
Our window of data aint huge, but to me there is a clear gap between the 2 power 5 teams we played in 2016 vs the one we played in 2015. I don't wan to paint all non power 5 teams with the same brush. PV is clearly the worst over the 3, but 67-0 is staggeringly different than 56-23 & 44-27.
If there was a way to weight the competition in factoring these numbers I think we would be seeing improvement across the board and in larger margins.

Here's the best I can do.
UCLA, after playing us, beat UNLV (1-2) 42-21 and BYU (1-2) 17-14 in Provo.
Prairie View, with the exception of the A&M game, is scoring 30+ ppg and allowing about 22 ppg.
Auburn took Clemson to the wire, scoring only 13 points but allowing only 19 and destroyed an overmatched Arkansas State team 51-14.
Last year, Arizona State beat FCS Cal Poly by 14 points and New Mexico by 24 immediately after playing us.
Last year, Ball State and Nevada scored more points on A&M than Arizona State did, and in increasing numbers.
Here's a more apt comparison:
Since allowing 24 points in overtime to UCLA, A&M has allowed 16 total points, 6 which came in garbage time to Auburn.
Since allowing only 17 points to Arizona State in 2015, A&M allowed their next three opponents to score 23, 27, and 21 points respectively.

I've noticed we seem to be swarming to the ball on defense very well.
Is there any way to compare YAC allowed through the first three games?

Not sure anyone tracks YAC in college football.

Knight won't rack up accuracy points, He is mature, steady, and limits poor decisions.
That cannot be said of either of th QBs from last season.
Knight is the knight we need.

Would be an awesome stat, if anyone tracks it.

If anyone knows how to find it, CGSC does

While the stats are interesting and give us a metric to study, I think we are seeing a much more mature football team overall. They understand what they need to be doing. Add in a staff that seems to mesh well together and now we are seeing the results.
