I agree Ulala should be a toss up

It doesn't take much confidence to predict we'll beat Arkansas and USC when we're 8-0 against them since joining the SEC. We're still likely an 8-win team at best.

Nice hedge though

Pat wants to be sure we all know how much of an accomplishment 8 wins would be.

Come November it should be fun watching his basketball hedge. Lord knows he's gonna have to hit the brakes on that with everyone predicting the Sweet 16.

Expectations are very dangerous for the program shills.

I admit, I imbibed some kool-aid after watching Trayveon Williams highlights yesterday. I think we are going to score a lot of points this year, enough to 6 wins at minimum. Still think 8-4 is best-case scenario.

Auburn might be a lot more winnable to Stidham isn't anything near what he is being billed to be.

Likely Ws:
Nicholls
Ulala
Arky
USCe
UNM

Toss ups:
UCLA
Miss State
Auburn
Ole Miss

Likely Ls:
Florida
LSU

L:
Bama

8-4 sounds right. I think Auburn is highly overrated, much like they were in '15 - Jeremy Johnson for Heisman. Hell they weren't that special last year. The best way to think about the SEC is that with the exception of Bama at top, everyone else is pretty even. Conference is in a rut.

You sure like your labels. I don't know if 8 wins would save Sumlin's job, but 5wins is way more likely than 8.

No hedging here, I think we make the elite 8. It's March Madness so anything could happen, but I'll be disappointed with anything less than sweet 16.

I wouldn't be willing to predict that without knowing the matchups. Unfortunately, with the way Kennedy coaches, we'd have to be an overwhelming favorite to win the Sweet 16 matchup.

Why don't you just worry about picking out which assistant coach you're going to pin all of our success on now that Stansbury is gone.

Here's the thing. I'm not a big fan of KDS, BUT: if Trevor Knight had not been injured in the MSU game, A&M almost certainly would have beaten MSU and Ole Miss, finished 10-2 regular season. I challenge any Sumlin-haters to pick on that record. (Nyahh nyahh nyahh, you can't do it.)

That has nothing to do with this year, of course. But I'm sticking with 10-2.

You could say something like this about every season since 2012. We've severely underperformed compared to the talent on the field.

Ole Miss maybe, but Mississippi State was scoring at will and already had 21 points on the board when Knight went down.

MSU led by 7 when Knight went down and ended up winning by 7. Kinda sorta maybe agree MSU would have won anyway... but not really.

OM won by 1 point against Hubes. I like Hubes (and BoobsForHubes in particular), but A&M definitely wins that game with TK.

The point was, if Aggies had beaten those two teams (which to me seems like a dead solid lock if our savior had not been hurt) and finished 10-2, NOBODY would be screaming for Sumlin's head.

I'm not trying to start shite and I don't know that Sumlin can get it done. We MUST have way better LB and DT play. If that doesn't happen, then screw him. I've no idea who would be a good replacement, though.

That's a true statement, as is mine.

Knight was injured when he scored to make it 14-7. On the ensuing drive, Mississippi State scored to make it 21-7.

So... is your argument that they would have scored more if Knight hadn't left the game w/an injury? B/c at the end of the day the final score was 35-28 and Moo only scored one time in the second half.
