It's perception, and ours isn't good is all I'm saying. Look at the rest of the schedule, unless Auburn rebounds there is only one quality game and that's LSU.

Fortunately ole miss is still ranked, but I hear ya. But I also see MSU creeping back up into the rankings.

Halfway through the season. We are exactly where I thought we'd be. I'm still disappointed Saturday turned out the way it did. Just have to put the second half of the season together.

I said 9-3 before the season and missed on Arky but was good on Bama. I still think 9-3 is reasonable but 10-2 looks attainable with the schedule y'all have left. Get past Ole Miss and Auburn (I think this is going to be a good game) and you guys will meet up with us, hopefully with the West on the line!

BTW, i really like our chances with y'all this year. No offense meant but I just don't see how y'all stop our run game or our improved pass game. I think y'all will put up some points and I may be overconfident but I think we beat y'all by two scores. Next year LSU v aTm for all the marbles on thanksgiving night between 2 undefeated teams!

Serious question...why has the tone changed so much on here from what the preseason expectations were? For the most part, you guys were expecting between 2-5 losses, just based on your own opinions. Is it the way it seems Sumlin has lost a bit of control, or losing two in a row, or maybe the way y'all lost? Truth is, you guys have a great chance to be 10-3 this year with a young team and the talent only getting brighter. Buck up

It is the fact that we melted down the past two weeks. And the fact that it was on the side of the ball that Sumlin is supposed to have on lock down. That and the fact that we as a fan base get kicked in the junk every year so we tend to preemptively see failure in any slip-up. Kinda like Pavlov and his dog with bells.

Is the way we've lost

3 pick sixes to Bama

Not a single TD vs ole miss

Those two things can really break your spirit

It's the way the loses have occurred. I understand getting outplayed or out coached but to just collapse is unacceptable.

Can not be explained much better than this. In fact, I refer to this exact explanation, every single year.

Are we the Cubs of NCAAF? I think the argument could be made.

Well we're right where I thought we were going to be...

5-2

Allthough I had ASU and OM Swapped.
I also had us losing to Auburn and beating LSU.

So I'd swap those now. 9-3 Ten wins with the bowl... I'll take a step back from melting until we see this week's results.

The way we are trending and the fact that our offense is holding us back. If you had told me our defensive stats at this point I probably would have predicted we would be 6-1 and we would finish 10-2. The way we are trending we could easily lose to Auburn (who is a lot worse than I thought they would be) and finish 8-4.

Yeah I had us losing to Bama and Auburn. So we if we win Auburn that is a wash. For some reason I just have a feeling that the LSU game will be epic. Not saying we win, but I think it will be a great game.

My preseason picks, I hope I was wrong about Auburn and right about LSU, but I don't think losing both is out of the question.

ASU-W. NAILED IT
Ball St-W NAILED IT
Nevada-W NAILED IT
Arkansas-W. NAILED IT
MSU-W NAILED IT
Bama- toss up tough
Ole Miss- W SWING AND A MISS
USCe-W
Auburn-L
W. Car-W
Vandy-W
LSU-W Sumlin knows this could put his job in jeopardy faster than anything g else, he controls the offense personally for this one and we destroy them

Believe me I can definitely understand that. But the easiest part of your schedule is in front of you and you have a chance to still have a really good 10 win season. I would probably be melting just as hard, specifically with it being 2 in a row and losing so badly 2 in a row (ie see LSU v Auburn/LSU v State last year ). But I'm trying to give u guys a kick in the rear. You still have the ability to play in a great bowl against a good team and bring some serious heat next year!

It's appreciated.

As the others have said, the reason for the melt despite our near universal pre-season prediction of losing to both of the teams we've lost to is all about HOW we lost. The pick 6's vs Bama and not even scoring a TD against Ole Miss despite us being an "offensive team" and despite their having lost to MEMPHIS the week before is soul-crushing. If we'd've lost close hard-fought battles we'd be okay with it. But we lost bad in both because our QB melted down and our OC called ridiculously bad plays.

Swap Arky for LSU and this is still looking good. We'll lose to Auburn if we can't turn things around on offense.

I'm not melting as hard as others, but as the post above me mentions, it's the way we've lost which has been especially soul crushing. Would our defense be able to turn things around in Chavis' first year was the major concern going into the season, not that we'd have a cluster at QB mid-season.

Now predicting a 9-3 regular season w/a win vs Penn State in the Music City Bowl to reach 10 wins for just the second time since '98.
