I'm fine with yall predicting a W in that game. I disagree, of course. But if you win it will not be due to LSU not being very good at covering the pass.

Personally I feel like yall are going to have a little more trouble defending our offense with Allen (with a year plus worth of starts under his belt) and a more balanced WR corps than you did with Manziel and Evans. The potential and depth in our WRs is real and it could be just as formidable as your secondary by the end of the year. Couple that with what should be an improved running attack and I think we come out on top just barely this year. I think it will be pretty similar to the game last year though, and it's so hard to predict what our rosters and teams will look like in late November

ETA and I'm not saying we will throw for 300 or something against yall this year, just think we are effective enough to win

Alabama - Win. The reason I think this is the timing of the matchup. They will just be coming off a grueling stretch at Georgia then playing Arkansas while we'll have a bye week before their game.

Auburn - Win. Again. Timing. They play us right after Arkansas and Ole Miss. We play them after South Carolina.

Great points

I can see where this could happen. If we lose to aTm due to passing it'd be because yall improved. Not because LSU's pass defense has regressed. Pass D is the 1 thing on the defense I have 0 concern about.

fair assessment. Yall throw it enough to get some big plays. Vs teams like aTm you can play well all game and lose due to 2-3 BIG plays.

Jbrau and Cas:

Have yall done an A&M prediction in another thread? I'd be curious to see the outside looking in opinion.

Its not as simple as having plus DBs and playing man. Otherwise the air raid wouldn't exist.

Yeah I agree with this assessment. I don't see an automatic loss on the schedule. There will be a lot of hard fought fun games though.

I did one earlier in this thread. I see y'all losing to Arky, Bama, and us. Honestly I could be wrong, but I have yet to see y'all be able to stop a power team like these and I don't think it will start quite yet. It is so difficult to win consistently in the West bc of the different styles of O and all of the teams being fairly good to really good.

I could def see us finishing 9-3. I am most concerned with the ASU and Arky games.

This is actually a fairly difficult season to predict. Not so much because of the variables surrounding our team, but I feel the SEC West is really hard to gauge right now. All 7 teams are good.

My gut feeling is that this is a good season for us.
11-1 with a loss to OM in large part due to where it falls on the schedule and its away.

Arkansas-W
MSU-W

Hardest ones to call so I split them... went with Arky as a win because we're much more familiar with them. ASU who knows... wish I could go but I'll be firmly in the redzone with baby number 1 and even though we're delivering right near Reliant I don't think my Longhorn wife would be happy if she couldn't reach me on the cell during the game.

8-4, people are overestimating he immediate Chavis effect. Moreover, they are ignoring that Spav's playcalling was arguably just as big of an issue as our defense last year and even they aren't they are assuming Dave Christenson will solve everything.

I think the emotion of the Chavis hire (still awesome FWIW) has many Aggies just automatically assuming the best case scenario in all areas. Minimal injuries, immediate playing calling and defensive turnarounds, offensive line being great again, etc.

11-1 is just flat out unreasonable IMO. 10-2 is a stretch and would mean we are shooting for the moon in 2016. I can definitely see anything from 6-6 to 9-3.

Nah. Predicting is easy. That's why so many people do it. Predicting accurately... now that's different.

Roger's new baby's sleep patterns have hurt his cognitive powers. The only game I see as a sure-fire loss is Bama and that's because you don't just come back a year after 59-0 and think, "Yeah, we got this." And I think we'll lose one that we shouldn't, likely Ole Miss because of the timing. Screw everybody else, Ags are taking them. 10-2, 11-2 after beating the crap out of OU again or, hopefully, somebody like ND.

I honestly don't see how you can argue this. The offense, with some very notable exceptions, was pretty good. The defense was almost uniformly horrendous.

Big improvements on defense are very possible. For example, 2013 Arkansas had the #88 Scoring Defense. Then in 2014, Robb Smith's first year as DC, they jumped all the way up to the #10 Scoring Defense.

Every HUNH offense is pretty good. Just moving quickly gives you a huge advantage. We need the offense to be phenomenal. And we can't just dismiss the cluster frick that was the Alabama game.

It was great against USC and for about two quarters against Auburn and West Virginia, the three times that reasonably talented teams played off zone coverage against us.

Against any team that played press man (Ole Miss, MSU, Bama, Arky for most of the game, Mizzu, LSU and even ULaLa) our offense was dog shite because those receiver screens got eaten up at the LOS and our receivers couldn't get separation.

Our running game was abysmal against any defense with a pulse. We literally just ran into the line with man blocking against six man fronts (horrendously stupid).

Our offense was truly good for about 6-8 quarters against FBS teams last year. Given our talent level, finishing 33rd in offense last year was terrible.
