So a bigger tarp for the Rape Bowl

holy Jesus. This is every bit as bad as the wildest speculation would go.
I'm astounded. How grown men, many with daughters, ran that operation the way they did is beyond my understanding. They are vile individuals.

I guess it's better than the original report that Briles was going to keep his job and they were going to transfer Starr to the law school.

Baylor is seriously the dirtiest AD in the country. I don't understand how they consistently fool people into thinking they are this upstanding university

If there's one thing you should know about Baylor is that they don't care about their students. All they care about is winning in every sport no matter the cost.

Fightin Texas Aggie, Phil Bennett, is taking over as interim HC.

With significant accusations being directed at "the tone and culture of the football program", it's hard to understand how any of the major figures on the staff can survive this.

Actions by University administrators directly discouraged some complainants from reporting or participating in student conduct processes and in one instance constituted retaliation against a complainant for reporting sexual assault.
There is simply no way you can make this sort of statement and no charges be filed

Everybody involved will be very fortunate if they don't get charged with a crime. This will end up being a bigger scandal than Penn State.

It won't be close to the scale of Penn State but I am curious to see how the NCAA reacts as well

NCAA won't do anything about this, they are way too gun shy from all the anger they received from the penn state sanctions.

This is a little more grey than Penn State. The NCAA had no business sanctioning them as their issues were entirely of the legal nature and offered no competitive advantage. Baylor's issues actually effected the product on the field as the rapists shouldn't have been playing, although it will be tough to show which players were justified in playing pending investigation and which weren't.

I wonder if sweeping changes to the transfer rules and eligibility rules will come from this.

Baylor has already self-reported NCAA violations and they've lawyered up in anticipation of an investigation
There are a few lines ihe summary report that are pretty damning too because the wording sounds exactly up the NCAA's alley

Pepper found that Baylor’s efforts to implement Title IX were slow, ad hoc, and hindered by a lack of institutional support and engagement by senior leadership.

Institutional failures at every level of Baylor’s administration directly impacted the response to individual cases and the Baylor community as a whole
quote:
The football program failed to identify and maintain controls over known risks, and unreasonably accepted known risks. Leadership in football and the athletics department did not set the tone, establish a policy or practice for reporting and documenting significant misconduct. The lack of reporting expectations resulted in a lack of accountability for player misconduct and employee misconduct.

Baylor did not adhere to a consistent protocol regarding transfers and importantly, Baylor did not consistently follow previously implemented processes regarding criminal background checks, request for records of any prior college disciplinary actions, and character reference screening forms.
