I'll accept too for your AV but even stack the odds more in your favor. I'll give you lifetime control of my AV for 1 week of yours and all A&M has to do is make the Final 4.

What, no happy posts about Danuel House deciding to stay? BK gets ripped for a transfer but gets no credit for the best player returning when he could have easily left for the pros?

Where exactly was he going to go? The Iraqi Division I Basketball League with Marshall Henderson? His best bet is to stay, get an education, and hope the incoming freshmen help him reach the tournament in order to get noticed by NBA teams.

Kennedy isn't going to magically improve House's playing ability and House sure as hell isn't going to make Kennedy a better coach.

Pat's just trolling us at this point. Nobody can look at Kennedy and conclude he's doing a good job or that he deserves more time here. It's honestly impossible if you apply objective metrics. Kennedy's inked one good recruiting class due to a perfect storm of factors, but that's not sustainable (I'm not saying he didn't work hard to bring them in, but it's not something that he's going to repeat. Avery, they were the rare group of friends that actually wanted to play together so much that it impacted their decisions, their "we don't care about the spotlight" personalities, really buying the "come turn this thing around and make history" argument, and that they apparently don't get cable and have never seen Kennedy coach).

Past that recruiting class, he's done exactly jack shite. In year 4, with a roster featuring lots of upperclassmen and a decent number of 4 stars (plus a 5 star), he not only missed the NCAA, but failed to beat a single RPI top 50 team (0-5 record). He went 3-3 against 51-75 RPI teams (losses were Ole Miss, La Tech, and Florida), had 3 losses to teams in the 76-100 range (KSU and Bama x2), and then the loss to Auburn (126). Then, when asked what went wrong in the post-game press conferences, he'd routinely say that he didn't know. Literally, "I don't know" or "I'm not sure." That's what clueless, feckless, slapdick coaching looks like. Crappy results and he doesn't even know what's going wrong.

As a point of clarification, you have to get above 100 or so for a loss to be really bad and above 150 for it to be crushing, so some minor kudos to Kennedy. He brought his very bad/horrible losses number down to 1 this year instead of his regular 3-4. That said, losses in the 76-100 range are bad too. Not horrific, but bad, especially when you bat .000 against the top 50.

Is that before or after blaming his players, complaining about the APR, or relying on Hyman to "manage the expectations of the fanbase"?

I really don't agree that Pat is trolling. In fact I am almost completely on the bandwagon with Pat.

Almost nothing you said about BK was wrong, But the facts are he is our coach, and thanks to that talent influx he will probably make the tournament which means one or two more years of BK minimum. When faced with such an inevitability, I would personally rather hang the negative up for a year and try to enjoy what hopefully will be a good season the best I can.

Is that optimal? No way, but our AD has made it clear the expectations in basketball are minimal. And our BMAs have made it clear they are ok with those expectations. I don't see what bitching can do in the face of that.

I will melt and melt and melt about the football team or some recruit, because dammit we support that program with the resources of a winner. Basketball is setup to be a permanent cinderella, so I would rather enjoy the ball than worry about when Hyman is going to drop the slipper on BK.

I agree, if you ignore the improvement over his tenure and the incredible incoming recruiting class (aka ignore the good things), then Kennedy is definitely not doing well.

We barely missed the tournament and now we're going into a season in which we haven't lost many players (House coming back is enough alone) and we have the #2 class in the country coming in. It's time to sit back with your popcorn and enjoy the fruits of the past few years of growing pains.

It's win win. Either the basketball team gets better or the podcast does. :)

Check the rankings again.

1 - Duke
2 - Kentucky
3 - LSU
4 - Arizona
5 - Michigan State
6 - Texas A&M

We're not even 2nd in the SEC.

Ignore the good things? Okay, here are the "good things,"
1) his recruiting class
2) a few spectacular individual performances by Danuel House and Elston Turner

That is it. As for improvement, again he had 0 top 50 wins and only 3 top 75 wins. That is not good at all for year 4 with a bunch of upperclassmen and 4 star recruits. Actually it's awful.

The only reason he's improved is that in year 1, he set the bar so low that a legless moron could clear it. In 4 years, he still hasn't gotten the program back to where it was when he took over
