Could have seen that one coming. Apparently the only good thing he's done in his administrative career was making the SEC move. He's a good person, but he completely derailed vision 20/20 and set us back about 5 years in the process. I haven't been keeping tabs on our new administration, but hopefully they'll quit the diploma mill BS and make A&M a top 20 public university again. Loftin just needs to go sit down somewhere.

ETA.... apparently I am mistaken and my ire should be directed towards Rick Perry and John Sharp. If you're reading this, sorry Bowtie

A few socialist malcontents in the Mizzou English Dept.?

The Bowtie is real scared, I'm sure.

Yeah I put most of the blame on our academic decline on Sharp and political figures like Ruck Perry.

All I got out of the whole thing with Missouri right now is that their English department has 26 pro abortion liberals, and Zero conservatives.

Apparently their board still loves him, so I seriously doubt that he's going anywhere.

I put the blame for wholesale abandonment of Vision 2020 - right down to the facilities masterplan - on Sharp and Rick Perry.

I find it hard to slap the 2020 backsteps on Loftin. Perry was pushing that educational reform bullshite trying to make A&M and UT glorified community colleges. frick him and the horse he rode in on, and frick the dude who bred and raised that horse.

Loftin was a puppet at A&M. When he didn't want to play along any longer, he was forced to step down.

Ok... So are Perry and Sharp still pushing this shite? Why would they do that?

Perry isn't the governor anymore, so, I'm guessing they aren't. The current governor is a Longhorn. I'd imagine he doesn't want to turn UT into a diploma mill. For some reason, despite being tagged as 'liberals', in practice, they're much less populist than we are when it comes to how they want their university to be run.

Today Dr. Young and A&M announced a new $4 billion fundraising campaign.

LINK /

Given how many Former Students (and others) love and respect Dr. Loftin, maybe once Mizzou runs him out of town, he can come home and serve as a special assistant to Dr. Young in charge of the new fundraising campaign.
