I know it's two weeks away but let's get it started. I believe this will be our greatest test before LSU but I also admit that I haven't watched a single down of any of their games.

Was Ole Miss a fluke? Didn't Bama turn it over 5 times?

Bama whipped Georgia badly at Georgia, could Georgia have been that overrated?

Bama's pass defense is suspect, and their run defense is great. Kyle Allen will have to play lights out for us to get a win.

I just dont believe we are capable of beating a good team that plays that style until proven otherwise. They will use the exact same gameplan as Arkansas but with a better offense and a MUCH better defense.

This is the type of game Spav has yet to show up for. He goes into a shell against great defenses.

I think we are a terrible matchup for Ole Miss OTOH. Their offense plays right into our strengths and their defense seems like a lot of smoke and mirrors.

If we can come out with quick scores like we did last week I think we have a shot. We have to be able to force them into third and long situations though which I still don't know if we can do. I could see Henry/Drake going wild on us.

Ultimately I think we lose something like 34-21, but by Friday night I won't give a frick because that atmosphere in town should be awesome

Throw Georgia game out. They collapsed and aren't 28 points worse than Bama. They pulled their usual.

Bama's offense isn't elite and if we hold them into the 20s then we have a great shot at beating them. Coker not fast enough to take advantage of our tendency to rush upfield too quickly. Brand Allen and Dak are much faster.. Dak is just hard to tackle.. period.

Our inability to run for a yard in 2 plays is a big problem. Only going to get worse with Bama. We need to put up around 30-35 points in my estimation.

This game is not a mismatch by any stretch.

Bama is good. Their defensive front 7 are scary good and Ragland is a beast. Their secondary NOT So Much But They Ain't bad. Spav will have to call a better game and we just can force it to Kirk. Our defense is going to have to step up because Saban isn't gonna let Lane sling it all over the yard, he's going to use the Arky model and run it straight at us and go slow. We must stop the rum to have a chance.

Bama is legit, but not unbeatable.

Still going to take a damn near perfect performance on both sides of the ball to pull off the upset, though.

I'm gonna reserve judgment until I see how they do vs Bert.

I think we want arky to rough them up but that's about it. If arky were to make it close or win, I think Bama roars back to business the next week.

Yep, bama isn't immortal but they will be damn hard to beat and I just don't think we have the horses to keep up in this one. Offense still has those periods where they can't seem to sustain a drive if their life depended on it and Alabama will score quite a few on us, most likely right up the middle on runs as we haven't looked great there.

If Spav was smart, he would have a few packages with Kyler and maybe even a whole drive or two centered around him. Just putting him out there will probably make Saban's blood pressure shoot through the roof

Kyler is going to give bama fits. This game will be reminiscent of the 2013 game v bama at Kyle. It'll be a fun one I think

We got zero pressure on the QB (y'all shouldn't have that issue), and our QB play was atrocious (y'all shouldn't have this issue either). A'Shawn Robinson was insane, and Bama's #1 rated recruiting classes proved why they were rated so highly yesterday. We had some crappy special teams play and turned the ball over way too much as well.

I think y'all are the best team in the SEC right now, but if Bama plays like they did yesterday it's going to be hard for anybody to beat them IMO.

While I understand people like to reiterate the Arky game and their offensive style of matchup with us, I thinks it's important to realize Brandon Allen played out of his mind that game. It isn't just having a running game, it's the ability to throw on us which the hogs did. Let's remember that Coker is a first year starter and we have one of the best pass rushes in the country. We are more than capable of giving their offense fits, especially if they are playing from behind.

I do worry about our offense staying consistent. It seems lately we are fine with setting up the run with the pass, and that's fine because it is working. The onus will be on Allen to perform because it's not like we can rely on our running game to win. However, if Allen has a good day, we can expose their secondary a little.

I'd like to see Kyle in shotgun with Kyler next to him in the pistol. We wouldn't even have to run the play. It would just be to frick with Saban's head and make him waste a timeout.

Good thread The truth is that I would never be able to tell you about Alabama as long as Saban is there. Analysts try to figure them out week after week but Saban is a genius. The Ole Miss game was a fluke and nobody wants to admit it.

FIFY. I think the rest of us knew that game was a fluke.

Maybe I am crazy, but I think ultra focus on establishing the run needs to take a day off. I want full on 5 wide, air raid, HUNH, attack. Then pound the ball after you gassed some monstrous DL and have a lead.

I agree. We need to have Kliff's attack on them this coming game. We need to be pedal to the metal on the plays. The announcers were going on during the game that we had the fastest pace in the SEC last year and were faster this year. Maybe we've become jaded to the pace? It does not seem like we are going that fast to me. Of course it probably has to do with it looks more controlled than when Johnny was running it. With Johnny I felt like I was watching a dragster on a road course. Never knew which way he would go but it was gonna be fast and spectacular.
