Kinda bummed we never got to beat him, but on the other hand I'm relieved he's gone. Motherfricker knew exactly how to shut us the frick down.

I guess I'll wait to hear it from Les. Nobody is owning up to who the "sources" are.

I don't believe it. His buyout will decrease quite a bit so I read, if they just wait until Jan 1. It would be foolish to cut him now.

Ya, I really wanted to beat him as well. Curious how this will affect the rest of their season and recruiting, especially since they also canned Cameron

LSU foolish? No way!

But I'm with you. I'll believe it when Les goes on camera and says "I'm fired."

"If LSU were to fire Miles without cause any time during a two-year period that begins Jan. 1, 2016, the contract says the initial buyout amount would be $12.9 million."

So they'd have to wait a year plus before the buyout goes down

Pretty crazy--not at all what I would have done in their shoes.

yeah and I think they removed the Les Miles clause last year from most all the assistants. But this makes me

However, Cam Cameron’s new contract includes the clause, something The Advocate reported two weeks ago when the school released the contract. The offensive coordinator received a new three-year contract starting at $1.2 million per year, a reduction of $300,000.

Has anyone mentioned to the rant how smart Chavis was to leave when he did?

It is a bizarre situation. They are so full of talent and that offense has been just so terrible for so long. And he doesn't show any desire to change it. They cut him down from the hanging rope last season, and he made no changes to resolve the problems.

Chief knew the jig was up and wasn't about to sit around and let the whole thing come crashing down around him.

Smart man

Chavis kept Les on the job for a few years.

We're fortunate to have him supporting Sumlin now.

I'm sure Chavis was giddy with joy to see an offense step up and take over in the 4th quarter after his Defense played their asses off

Seriously, I think watching this unfold with LSU and their fans is a good example of what not to do.

We're very fortunate that Sumlin and the Administration have made continued improvements, and they receive the right encouragement from our fanbase.

I predict there is no way the new hired coach at LSU reaches the 77% win/loss ratio that Les had. I suspect they'll get a new shiny offense, but without the wins and championships. Many teams have talent now; us included. Again, we're very fortunate.

No doubt: Chavis tried to warn Les Miles
