I don't get 95% of the complaints Texags has about the renovated stadium. The lack of symmetry is great IMO, it gives the stadium character and distinguishes it from the cookie cutter stadiums of the NFL and new college ones like Baylor's. The south endzone façade will be seen by virtually nobody on gameday and is irrelevant IMO.
My only gripes are the lack of removal or painting of the tan zone siding (looks tacky and there was no good reason not simply paint it black), the poor sightlines in the NE corner (which are being fixed) and the fact that we have too many endzone seats. We should have added more bleacher/chairbacks on the west side, moved some of suites to the south endzone and shortened the upward extension of the south upper deck. What's going to happen is, once the novelty wears off, we're gonna have huge empty corner sections most weekends because finding 10,000+ people who want to sit in the far north and south endzone corners will be impossible for all but the biggest games. I sat in the upper south corner last year for LSU and it really limits the atmosphere, you feel like you are watching the excitement instead of within it.
Go look at other 100k stadiums like Bryan-Denny, Tiger Stadium and DKR and see how many more quality seats they have. We reached 102k by adding about 5-8,000 poor quality seats in the south upper deck that we could have done without. A full 95k seat stadium looks better than a 102k stadium with lots of empty seats.

I know the conventional wisdom is we have more money than the Vatican too but it's really a cost issue on this. It's just prohibitively expensive due to the curvature and a decision was made that the money was better spent elsewhere. Facade is entirely decorative while most of the Kyle expansion will generate revenue
Last year our opex was taxed because we were unable to raise the necessary capital for a few projects. We gave money from the AD to finish the lockerrooms and for the West Campus weight room and for the SECN control room.
We're obviously not poor but we've really gone deep in our donor base. We're struggling right now for softball and track who both deserve new facilities. Just not a priority to add a facade when it looks pretty good anyway.
That all makes sense to me.

You do realize that A&M controls local politics right?

When you look at new stadium construction the cost scale for Kyle is off.
You serious Clark?
Half the west interior is covered in fricking wood and marble dude. The total cost of all the steel and concrete alone was close to $100 million, that's not including the brick. And for much of the project we have had 24 hour round the clock workers drawing pay.

Did keeping the old stuff and doing it over two seasons really add THAT much to the cost?
YES, forcing the engineers and workers to work around the existing structure while simultaneously asking them to complete each phase in a matter of just 10 months is extremely costly. The on site guys have been quoted as saying this was a job that would normally take about 24 months total given that we made them divide it up over 2 off-seasons, so we are essentially paying them to take 4 total months off the normal timeframe.

I read somewhere back in 2013 when this was being decided that some of the local businesses bring in nearly half of their annual revenue on the 7 football weekends every year. I know for a fact several of the bars on Northgate would have immediately gone under had we moved the games to Houston for even one season.

No, I thought about it and realized that it would be impossible to find an Apple to compare. Everything is oranges.

Can we just get press credentials and say we are reporting to the AggyArk?

It cannot hurt to try. Good Bull Hunting has a press pass, I believe.

I was talking to a dude who owns a liquor store on welborne. Said he makes about 60% of his money during the football season

He makes his money selling drugs to out of towners. Not really a big concern to me.
Delicious drugs, yes, but still.

Could you dm the ticket prices on Twitter? I'm trying to build my case lol... Unfortunately time is the big limiting factor but If I can justify airfare to the misses I may have a shot. She has anxiety when she doesn't have an exact plan lol.

All you would accomplish is constant whining and sniping by a certain individual with a mass of pubic hair just below the lower lip.
You'd even get "AggyArk" censored on ****** again.

He's my least fav of the TexAgs crew. He just seems like a dork that tries too hard sometimes and I mean that in a nice way if possible.
