I'd guess that happened in the 78 3rd deck expansion. I know for a fact the concourse was raised when I was a student but maybe you could still get in from ground floor too.
But I specifically remember bringing my grandfather to a game and he sat on 1st deck and I had to help him get to the top at the end of the game.

Huh. Can't believe I never noticed that before.

I read a monster thread on TA about the flex of the S Zone. Apparently they are playing Sandstorm (wtf?) AND the joint was literally jumping anywhere from 6 in to a foot.
Several PEs were bantering back and forth on safety.
I thought it was interesting.
Cool story, brah.

I browsed that thread as well. Some interesting discussion. I know that structures are meant to have some give, but as far as stadiums go, I'm not sure any fanbase stresses a structure more than Ags do Kyle Field on a normal gameday.
Obviously I haven't sat in the SEZ myself (my last game at Kyle was Nebraska 2010).

I wonder back when people realized the place was swaying. I'm sure they thought "hoooooly crap, we're gonna die!".
I suppose we've just introduced a different axis to get used to.
Still, I think a third party study (yes, pricey) would go a LONG way in appeasing any fears.

I agree. If nothing else, it'd be a gesture of good will that'd be much appreciated.

This is my thinking as well.
It's crazy how much of an impression it leaves on you when the place starts swaying

I think the comparisons to UCF are valid. Both steel construction. I wonder if UK has this issue.
Yes on the axis. We think NOTHING of a horizontal sway. First sign of vertical movement and New Army shits the bed.
*I would have too, especially if it was moving that much.

That's a good question. We should ask BluegrassBelle or Kentucker if we can remember.

I'm wondering (sorry if this was in the TA thread btw) if the impending enclosure of the southwest corner with the new alumni side will affect any of the flexing.
Not an engineering guy, so I'm definitely out of my depth on this one.

It can't be more expensive than a mid season field replacement.

Perfect picture to show it. And my pic with the portal does the same.. there's only 3 on that side and they are all north of the 50. I'm willing to bet donuts that the ones to the south were removed when the vising locker rooms were built underneath or some such.
Its just something I've noticed.. there were portals in older pictures, then they just up and disappeared.

Yea I was in the seats on the SEZ and the up and down was scary at first then it was what ever by the end of the game. My friend says its OK because its steel if it was concrete run but you'll most likely be dead. It's like being on a bridge and feeling the sway.

I barely even noticed it in my seats in the new endzone. I in the corner closest to the student section. Maybe it wasn't as bad there.

All large multi story structures are designed to sway the only real issue is if it gets to swaying in the material's frequency.
That is a very simple answer to a very complicated thing.

we need the reverse implosion gif of the elevator shaft and the two adjacent pillars.
If we crop it, it would make an outstanding 6 to midnight gif.

Jason Cook tweeted this pic of the new 12th Man Studio construction ongoing. Supposed to be completed in about a month
