Just a frick off thread Update 5/9

Yesterday my dad had a heart attack while working out at the gym. Due to inaction there was a delay in CPR & calling an ambulance. Luckily the brand new manager that recently started there began CPR. He is now at the hospital awaiting surgery. However he failed the neurological test. So they have began head scans now. I fricking hate sitting around and just wanted to vent.
Update. 5/5
Saw the surgeon and Dad's surgery is scheduled for the 9th. They found 2 more spots that are bad and 1 of the initial two wasn't there. So he is up for a triple bypass possibly a quadruple if they find the other spot again.

Today is the surgery day. We're at the hospital waiting.

Jesus, tricky, I'm so sorry to hear about this. I'm very close to my dad so I can't imagine being in your shoes.

Thoughts and prayers. That is tough, man. I've been there. It helps to reach out to friends and family to be with you. Several years ago, my sister was having surgery and my mom had a heart attack on the same day. I could not take it on my own. It helped a lot when I was able to get friends there to be with me and my family.

Dad is responding now and they are doing an ultrasound to find a harvest vein. Still just chilling.

I know it's no consolation, but less than ten percent of people who code due to a heart attack outside the hospital are ever revived long enough to be treated at a hospital.

Today's update. They removed the feeding and breathing tube. He is struggling with speaking and the thought of a bed pan disturbs him. He is responding to people now. Heart bypass has been postponed till Tuesday.
