I dunno, I always thought he was a huge dork, aggy to the core. I'll never forgive him for this abomination

Don't comfort him. He's been behind on his jar quota and is trying to dilute his product with tears. I'll not have it

Good riddance to bad rubbish.
What he did to us with the bevel is reprehensible.
Seriously, frick that guy. He made A&M apparel unwearable for me.

Agreed. Bevel and killing the t star are unforgivable.

Pretty sure some guy at Nike in the 1990's made the bevel logo.
Jason just decided having three logos because we hate the Nike one is ridiculous when ESPN or anyone else will just use the Nike one. So he killed the other ones.
It has more to do with not causing confusion and less to do with someone actually liking that terrible bevel.

I believe the bevel was done in an attempt to assimilate with the overwhelmingly dominant style of other big 12 team logos, which were mostly beveled...
Nevermind its a very aesthetically unappealing look under the best of conditions, it absolutely doesn't translate to any alternative medium, especially clothing.
Additionally, it's not correctly beveled, but that's just the cherry on top.
The fact we don't get the benefits of a current Nike contract but are somehow stuck with their garbage design....
Jason Cook didn't design it or agree to it initially, but he solidified it further.

Beveling the numbers on the uniforms was genius

Honestly didn't hate that. It didn't look bad at all, unlike the aTm.

I really wish yall would stop sending out the Old Main bat signal with this bevel talk. Last time he was on the rant it was a bloodbath.

Instantly recognizable. Nice callback from the uniforms to the official logo since the helmet logo is plain.

He just did what any good marketing person would do and tried to stop brand confusion.
I bet he didn't have the authority to ever completely redo our logo. That is a huge expense, as it devalues inventory on hand as well as requires a massive repainting project. He instead used the actual power he did have to unify behind one logo like any decent brand does.
Consider the options. I loved the T-star but it looked too much like Texas Tech's logo, and the non-bevel ATM looks old. Hell ESPN probably would refuse to use it if he says we did switch back and that is what really matters. That left Sarge, and we don't live in a world where he is cool anymore. The bevel logo was the best of bad choices (don't even get me started on the baseball one as an option) and it already had most of the momentum.
Then what he did do is turn around and give us that Texas logo when he could during the SEC move. That thing is easily our coolest logo so far and is more visible than T Star ever was.
Overall he knocked branding out of the park. He will be missed.

Don't care about the bevel on our logo. But while we are on that topic, anyone else think our logo is due for a touch up? Maybe change the bevel type to make it look a bit more subtle. Make it look a bit more professional instead of looking like a late 1990s bevel design.
