I look forward to your prototypical aggy response when we do make the tournament.

"Yeah, but any coach could win with this talent."
"We got super lucky cause X and Y happened."
"It was a given with how bad everyone else was."
"Well yeah, but we still should have won X more games."

I've held out on the Kennedy hate until this year. I think we've had legitimate reasons for sucking in the last few seasons, but not this year. If suck, fire his arse, but we gotta be honest with the caliber of coach we can attract.

Motherfrickers will be coming out begging and expecting BMAs to money whip somebody to coach in an empty arena at a football school. It's pretty easy to spend other people's money though

Just did a quick wikipedia search on Eric Hyman, and came across this gem on his page:

quote:

While generally athletic directors are evaluated using a variety of success metrics relating to athletic and academic performance of student athletes, Hyman views his role as one of "managing expectations",[3] encouraging decisionmakers to accept a lower level of success.

CGSC, did you write this?

Wow CGSC. I think Kennedy is a lousy coach, and even I think he'll do a lot better than your predictions.

I think we're going to win 21 or 22 (this team should win 24-26 with its talent), sneak into the tournament, and probably lose in the first round. Honestly, this team is loaded and the SEC isn't good enough for things to go much worse than that.

For the record, I'm still in favor of firing him and promoting Stansbury no matter what. We now have enough data to definitively know that he's a lousy coach.

Here's what you need to factor in:

1. Kennedy has NEVER beaten Georgia
2. It's nearly impossible for us to win in Fayetteville
3. Kennedy is WINLESS vs. Big 12 teams not named Oklahoma, Oklahoma State or Texas Tech (we play 4) and winless vs. the Big 12 since we joined the SEC.
4. Kennedy's only win in the SEC tournament came when A&M was in the bottom four of the conference standings
5. Every season we lay an egg in nonconference against a team we have no business losing to (Rice in 2011, Southern in 2012, North Texas in 2013, Kansas State in 2014)

We were picked 1st by the coaches in 2011. You all know how that season went.

Now we're picked 3rd. They underestimate how utterly shitty of a coach he is.

Between Barnes, Calipari, Stallings, Howland, Martin, Pearl, and Donovan as opposing coaches, do you seriously think we won't get out coached in at least half of the games we play against them?

How long does it take A&M fans to transition to basketball? Kennedy: "I don't know if they ever really transition to basketball." Welp

1. He's right
2. His past performance has directly contributed to the problem.

He's kind of right. We're obviously a fair weather basketball school, but if we win a bunch, our fans will "make the transition" and show up (after football season of course).

The arena was rocking when the drunk ran the show. The problem is he was replaced by an a-hole, who left and was replaced by a bad coach.

Basically when Turgeon left the program was where USCe's football program is now: historically terrible but on an upswing. Just like them now the hire after Turgeon defined our program, and we cheaped out and didn't go for Buzz. At this point the momentum is lost, which is basically why I have supported Kennedy.
