It's not just us, most of the SEC looks like garbage

A&M
USC
LSU
Arkansas
Auburn
Tennessee
Florida
Missouri

All look like warmed-over dogshit. Vandy got a good win today but they're still Vandy. Ditto for Kentucky. OM hasn't played anyone to know but their defense looks worse than ours. Hell MSU looks like the second best team in the conference.

It's amazing that we could play exactly like we did in the second half today and finish 8-4. This conference is awful right now.

If we play like we did in the second half today we'll be more like 10-2.

Nah, we still left guys wide open on defense and couldn't pass protect for shite. We played better sure, but ultimately we just wore down a team with a tenth of the talent.

We'll lose to Bama, LSU, probably MSU (we haven't stopped a spread run attack in YEARS) and we'll have trouble scoring against Florida. Arkansas, USC and Auburn might be worse than us right now though.

If ULALA's QB wasn't hurting we'd have given up a few more td's. I know, ifs and buts, but our schedule doesn't get easier than the past two games.

We're going to have some losses to some bad teams this year. Ucla for starters.

Yeah but we're the only ones who've given up a 34 point lead.

Auburn will win just for the simple fact that it's at Kyle and the road team has never lost. Ole Miss and Arkansas have quarterbacks which will light up our secondary.

I'm not sold on Arkansas' blocking at this point. We'll see on Saturday though. USCe was abysmal last night vs. Kentucky and lost their best playmaker for the season too.

agree with the OP completely, definitely not a league to be feared right now for the year. Saw a stat somewhere that the sec is 5-7 against power 5 competition this year.

He'd still get fired at 8 wins.

It gets dicey at 9. Better get used to him being around at 10 wins.

Yeah I don't see 9 or 10 wins being a problem

If he gets 10 wins, that wouldn't be making lemonade out of lemons.

That'd be making lemonade out of dingleberries

Agreed. Hope it isn't enough to save Sumlin's job

Is there some way we can go 10-2 and the coaching staff look like utter buffoons while so doing?

I'm rooting for that

Wouldn't the best thing be for Sumlin to go 11-1, then leave for the NFL, resulting in zero buyout?

Even if Sumlin pulls a 600 lb rabbit out of the hat, the timelines don't really line up.

In CFB, you usually need to be searching for a coach by early December. NFL teams typically don't start hiring until January.
