Is JFF's Heisman destiny in his own hands?

If he comes out and goes off on LSU and Mizzou and we get two wins, do you think that'd be enough to propel him to another Heisman, or do we still need Winston to lose?

Personally, I'd like to think closing out the season with wins over LSU and Mizzou would be enough, but with the anti-Manziel bias, I doubt they'd give it to him unless FSU loses.

It's not, Winston needs to slip.

No. Winston will have to play poorly and even after that I could see McCarron entering the discussion.

Somehow I see mccaron winning this. Should jff win it if we win out? Absolutely. If you put Winston or mccaron on our team we aren't 8-2. Too much johnny hate. I just hope it stays in the sec.

I really don't think it's about "Johnny hate" as this point. Considering all the offseason BS, I was surprised he was even in the conversation for the first few weeks.

He's not far enough ahead of FJW to make up for the two losses, especially when he got it last year.

Winston must lose.

Winston will not lose.

Manziel won't win the heisman.

Manziel is still more outstanding.

Johnny should win it hands down

But he won't unless he flat out rips up LSU and Mizzou

If Winston was ours we would have 4 maybe 5 losses if not more if Johnny was at FSU they would have 10 to 15 more 1st half touchdowns and still be undefeated

AJ is a great qb look at his stats in that system and compare them to other great qbs that played in that type of system and you will see it plus he still has to make the onfield decisions and he is damn good at that

Yup. If the Heisman was actually a career award, AJ should get a special Heisman trophy that's bigger than all the other Heisman's previous to it.

But looking at his stats this year....nothing special. Compared to Johnny so far:

-1272 Passing Yards
-12 Passing TDs
-8 INTs
-3.6% Completion
-5.2 QBR
-633 Rushing Yards
-8 Rushing TDs

Winston will win. I don't see FSU losing. I think Manziel finishes second and McCarron third

If Winston does lose and Bama wins out I could see AJ getting push because people don't seem to like awarding it twice. Also don't forget Winston and AJ will get that big stage on conference championship weekend while Johnny will be at home.

True but I was looking at other qbs who played in a pro set style o when comparing AJ and he is as good as any to have played the style

I firmly believe Johnny should win it but think it will go to Winston

Winston has to lose no matter what.

I've changed my mind on this. If we beat MU and LSU and Johnny goes for 400 plus both games then I think his stats keep separating himself from the field. Both games are going to be national tv. Johnny could end up with 4000 passing yards and 40 passing TDs before the bowl. That doesn't even account for his rushing.

He'll need several 360 spin highlight plays in there as well.

Winston is in the lead. JFF has had a lot of INTs in the red zone. That's gonna hurt him.

AJ and JFF should both make the trip to NYC.

Zero reason for AJ to go. I'd invite MM, Evans, and that ADU RB before him.

I agree with Rog that FSU has to lose a game for Manziel to have a chance.

I do too with one exception if he just flat goes off against LSU and puts up huge numbers(I'm talking 600+ passing etc) then FSU dosen't have to loose

Agreed. The numbers don't lie. If the 2 stay on the same trajectory, the discrepency between the 2 will only become larger. JFF is still very much in the hunt. Plus, he's still gonna do something bat-shite-crazy-good before it's all said and done.

Howdy, dammit!

I've decided I've given him too much grief over the ints and I'm an a-hole. You above all others already knew that. I think he's faced incredible pressure to score on every possession simply because who the Hell knows what our defense is going to give up? If he wins the next 2 I can't see how he doesn't win. Winston has had a great year, but against... who? That Miami beatdown is all of a sudden looking a lot less impressive. Gotta win the next two, though.

JFF has closed to within 2 points at heismanpundit.com. Because Johnny's stats are so much better, a loss by Winston will definitely knock him out. Another bad game, such as this last one, should as well.

Like Mariota previously and Klein last year, being undefeated is the only thing allowing them to keep JW in the discussion.
