That pocket presence and strike to Ratley on 2nd and 17 in the 4th was sweet

Lots of these passes have a great touch but tons of zip

Arm talent is there. He's elusive and fast enough to rack up some running yards. He has to get better at finding the open receivers. So many times I saw guys wide open and he rarely found them. Accuracy is an issue as well. He'll improve, but I'm not sure he'll ever be a dead-eye passer.

Not sure I've ever seen very many true freshman look As good as Mond by their fourth start

I'm going to admit, he could be something special

It appears that Mond/Ausbon is going to become our version of McCoy/Shipley. In that ESPN announcers will never let go of the fact that they are rooommates/went to high school together favorite receiver thing. And honestly, when its your receiver/QB combo its not nearly as insufferable.

Can't wait to see monda light really go on. You can tell he is hesitating a lot still, and I think part of that is because he's been told not to run. It's messing with his natural decision making progress, but forcing development as well.

He has a lot of tools. He also has terrible hair lol

At times, his facial expressions make him look as slightly overwhelmed and lost.

But then he drives the offense down the field and you notice that that's him keeping his composure. The dude could play poker fo' sho'.

He is struggling in a cacophony of information overload but when the cards are on the table and he has. I other option but to trust his gut he has the killer instinct you can't teach.

It's part of why I maintain he will be special. Huge fan of his.

I’ve almost started the “does any player on your team have worse hair than kellen mond” thread on the rant several times.

It’s what I imagine a really athletic Insane Clown Posse fan would look like, pre-face paint.

I was wondering why more people on tRant haven't called him out for it.

He just needs a little more touch. That'll come with time.

Agreed but if they start commenting on our male player's hair they have to keep the gay aggy jokes in their pocket and I don't think thats a sacrifice many are willing to make.

I'm coming around on Mond for sure. He is getting smarter and making better decisions with every game that goes by. The refs keep robbing him of TDs though. That probably puts a fire in his belly. Hope so. BTHO alabama.

I think Mond will be a very good college QB. The growing pains this year will be worth it and help him in the future

Brent mussburger’s favorite couple crush to talk about on the air waves. Something was wrong if he didn’t bring it up at least 3 times per broadcast. And what was worse is it seemed like Shipley was there forever, think he had one or two medical redshirt seasons so we had to hear about it 5-6 years in a row....

It’s good that mond and aubson have good chemistry together and it already shows as he’s just as popular of a target as Kirk, but I’m hoping he develops a little past that and spreads the ball out a little more. As others have said, several times during games I’ve seen wide open guys that mond didn’t because he was locked in one receiver on the other side of the field.

Yeah, he's got talent. I see a live arm that really sticks those throws to the sideline.

But what I really like is that he isn't afraid to take some deep shots down the field.

Just have to fix those high throws on intermediate routes over the middle that can result in Interceptions

Agreed, I really think he's giving us everything and more then we could possibly expect from a true freshman QB in the SEC

he looks nothing like the QB i saw back in HS on TV. I say that both literally and figuratively cause while his arm has developed tremendously, he appears to have a spider on the top of his head.
