I don't love our OLine

I'm sure there are a lot of people melting over the playcalling or the random QB roulette (or biting on Chavis trolls) but honestly I think this is the culprit. Kyle has had only a handful of clean pockets tonight, and I suspect that's the reason we haven't seen much of a run game either.

We've held them to 21, this isn't on the D

Agreed. Most predictions had Arky at 21+. We needed to capitalize on offense more often.

They're not good anymore. Sherman era is over. They're average. At best

It would be awesome if we could get Sherman to come be oline coach

Christiansen has been a disappointment so far. There were multiple plays where the announcers commented on how much pressure arky got with just a four man rush. 3 years ago JM would have had "time to take a math test" if I remember the quote from nessler or whoever was covering one of our games if a team was rushing only 4 people. Now yes, we don't have any of those guys anymore, but it seems like our line play has gotten progressively worse every season removed from Sherman.

Manziel made defenses check the rush. That's what this Kylar business is about. It's supposed to get the DL to hesitate.

They need to make his package include some passing though. I don't know how well it is going to work if it is like it was today.

I don't disagree, but I think it's more Luke>Jake>Cedric>Germain (or whoever it is, I'm honestly not sure.) I think this is more a recruiting problem than a coaching problem.

Does anyone? Lol but no I dont love them either. Thought we did better w/ run blocking this game though. Nice to see us be able to punch it in on the goal line. O line also did well on the screen plays

Germain doesnt deserve to be in this sentence.

truly amazing how knee jerk fans are. Problems take years to materialize and unfortunately years to fix. We waited too long to can BJ but a massive problem was his recruiting. BJ was a good recruiter but his evals leave something to be desired.
DC is working on fixing it but it's not going to happen overnight (though tonight will be a good start)

slow your roll there chief, I didn't say I wanted him fired. Just that I thought we'd see some improvement in line play this year. Is it too much to expect a coach who is billed a a top hire to come in and immediately make a difference? (Hint: like Chavis is doing with our defense). While we don't have a Luke joekel or Jake Matthews on this team our recruiting hasn't complete fallen off, we still have talent for the o line and I think we could be blocking and protecting a better than we currently are, I haven't really seen an improvement at all from last year so far.

Holding onto coaches too long seems to be Sumlin's real flaw. It is kinda refreshing though seeing as how loyalty is almost a four letter word in 2015.

DC is recruiting a lot of different OL according to 247. Hope he finds the diamond in the rough that made Mizzou what it was and would really help fill in our gap.

No one is saying they want Christiansen fired. What many are saying, and I think they're right, is that he's been a disappointment so far. Our line is garbage. He doesn't get a complete pass on that by just saying because: recruiting. He should be able to coach them up some. Instead they're as bad or worse than Anderson's line. The guy has a great reputation and I think he should get a few years, barring next year just being an abomination, but right now he's thoroughly unimpressive.

Sherman deserves all the credit in the world for his monster 2010 class, but his OL recruiting the other 3 years left a lot to be desired.
I think the 2014 class (gennesy and Koda) + 2015 class (Keaton, lanfear, Elbert, McCoy) is going to get us back where we want to be.

holding Arky to 21 is great.
but they still couldn't get off the field for most of the game and that limited the amount of possessions the offense had to just 10 w/only 9 being real possessions w/just 8 attempting to score TDs, and only 7 of those in regulation.
A&M scored 5 out of the 10 times we had the ball. The offense was not the problem, the scoring D wasn't a problem, but the Ds inability to get off the field so the O could get more cracks at it absolutely kept Arky in the game.

y'all do realize we lost 2 four year starters off last year's OL right? Both drafted, one in the first round. We also lost Compton who was the best backup we had.
Saying he should show improvement to the average fan belies the situation. Combine that with asking them to pull and trap for the first time in 4 years, it's just rough.
Spoke to a former A&M center this weekend and he felt we are showing improvement even if results aren't there just yet and from practices he fricking loves DC
