Just looking at the state of our main competitors, I can't help but feel like a win this week would go a long way in regaining some of the goodwill that our program has lost over the past 10 months

This game is absolutely colossal for SO many reasons.
For the purposes of getting to ATL, it's not technically a must-win, but from an intangibles standpoint....

Winning 11 games this year would negate the new hire recruiting bumps of our competition. Very important season to us.

Definitely important. If we lose, the narrative will immediately shift to, "well, we've seen these 5-0 starts before, and after that loss we all know what the ending will be". Absolutely cannot have another 7-5, 8-4 finish this season.
