... on the Texags daily show. In case you missed it, he was most impressed by the blocking of our WR's. Ding, ding, ding! I know this is a Sumlin hallmark and they really preach this stuff and we've had some good ones - Swope comes to mind immediately. But I've never seen the entire unit look THIS good at blocking. They were just spectacular - every damn one of them. I thought so watching the game and had to watch the replay a few times to make sure I wasn't making shite up. Nope! Just watch the first two plays. Holy cow. They were outstanding.

I worry a bit about playing, say, Oregon in the NC game with our secondary. And yes, I'm going there . Old lady SafetySam suggested Howard would make a better LB, and I'd agree if we (ETA: oops, he) wasn't needed in the secondary. That guy is a tackling machine, he just gets eaten up by the dumbass in his current position. But our offense? SEC is fricked. LSU has been successful at containing JFF with really good DE's. Guess what, coonasses? That's no longer an issue. I guess Auburn scares me a little bit, and Gurley in the SECCG, but this is shaping up to be a spectacular year one year ahead of schedule.

Bourbon and me say so. So I'm right, dammit.

EZ was great as well and it showed in his preseason action with the Texans. He threw some vicious blocks.

Didn't mean to leave anybody out, and EZ definitely belongs in the conversation. I still have that highlight of Swope laying out a DB stuck in my head. Can't remember if that was Ole Miss or LTU and I'm too lazy to look for it. But I've NEVER seen anything like the USC game. Every damn one of the WR's were laying USC defenders out or at the very least cutting their pursuit angles off. It was beautiful.

It was mentioned on SECN film room recap of our game, too. Our WRs flat murder their blocks every snap and seem to enjoy doing that just as much as catching the ball. So awesome to watch

And, it's dang funny that Hunter called Speedy: "Speedy Noel".

Yeah, that was a classic "tight end don't care about no WR's name" thing. Which made it weirder that he'd single out that group.

People really misinterpret what Oregon does.

Oregon is a run-first offense. Stanford and Arizona both showed that if Oregon is forced to abandon the run, Mariota is not the kind of player who can methodically pick apart a secondary.

OK, point taken. Substitute whatever pass-happy team you want, and I'll be worried about them instead of Oregon.
