I actually agree with LSU on this one. I also hate playing LSU on Thanksgiving. Playing on Thanksgiving is our tradition with tu, not LSU. I don't want to play on Thanksgiving if it isn't against tu.

i love what gets us the most exposure. playing on thanksgiving at the same time as the seahawks and niners doesnt do that. playing on cbs the day after does

interesting --- La Tech is officially off our schedule for next year. No announcement or anything but we had a completed 2016 schedule and now we don't.

But if you look at FBS Schedules now, we only show 3 games and La Tech is dropped off. So it appears we have an open date still to fill on Sept 10. At this point I'm guessing we're adding an FCS opponent
Btw, this was the return date for the bullshite Shreve game. They've just been giant vaginas about this whole situation so I hope we never schedule them again and at least got a good buyout from that game.

Also, Tulane just dropped Miss St a few days ago in '16 as well. Could my dream of a 2-1 w/Tulane actually be happening?

I must have missed something. Shreveport is a dump, but you surely don't mean you want to play in Ruston? (27,717 capacity) Or is it that we want home-and-only-home?

TMC meant the '16 game was a return at Kyle for the '12 game where we played them in Shreveport.

exactly. When we were desperate for a game in '12 because of the conference change, we agreed to a home/home with La Tech. We'd never do that. 2 for 1 maybe, but we had to have someone that could play on a specific weekend with 1-year notice.
We didn't want to play without a bye week so our options were incredibly limited. We offered them to play in CS because we also needed a home game to get to 6 (SMU was on road that year). They refused but did agree to put their home game in Shreveport. Their refusal led to us having to move the Ark game to home/home to get to the NCAA required 6 but for Jerry to agree, we had to extend the SW Classic deal.
Then they moved the game for a faux hurricane and forced us to play without bye anyway. And we couldn't cancel the game as we already had 2 FCS schools on the schedule due to our pure desperation. It would have left us with only 9 FBS games.
Essentially they fricked us because we were desperate. And now they cancelled our future home game. They better not ever need a favor from us

Ah, thanks. I still don't get the animosity, though. Unless people are mad about rescheduling the '12 game because of the weather threat. If that's it, ya'll need to grow the hell up. No offense or anything.

our internal weather forecast didn't think there was any reason to move the game and most believe it was just moved bc La Tech was struggling selling tickets for a Thu night game
The decision to schedule La Tech will end up costing us $10m+. Lotta of reasons for that but in the end, they fricked us royally and yeah, last I heard, our AD is pretty bitter about it.

there was no legit weather threat though.
like TMC said, they used that excuse to hide the fact that they moved it b/c they weren't selling enough tickets.
it barely even rained in Shreveport on the original game date.

There was no way to know that a week before the game, though, and anybody who thinks there WAS doesn't pay much attention to hurricanes. Speaking for myself and other LTU parents I sure didn't want to see my kid driving the 67 miles from Shreveport to LTU in 75 mph wind and inch-an-hour rain.
I don't know anything about ticket sales. My guess is they couldn't sell tickets because there was, you know... a frickin' hurricane.

Well you're wrong about the ticket sales. They were having trouble moving tickets several weeks in advance. They also didn't cancel the game a week out. They canceled it on August 28 which was two days before it was supposed to be played.
Dunno why you want to knight for La Tech when it was very clear at the time what they were doing.
