It is interesting listening to the offensive players talk about Trevor Knight, leadership, and team comradery. Haven't heard anything like this for a long while.
Kirk's interview was really eye opening. He mentioned the benefit of having Ed Pope and Jeremy Tabuyo back from apparent injuries last year. He also mentioned receiver depth would help everybody this season calling out future contributions of Kemah Siverand, Nacho, and others.

they are throwing the ball over the middle a lot more

My wife can tell you that this is my #1 thing. I would come close to stroking out during every game last season screaming for passes over the middle. Why in the name of Cthulhu our teenaged former OC completely abandoned the middle of the field I will never understand.

Spav played scared, plain and simple. He'd rather we throw it up for grabs at a 1 on 1 and trust his QB to drop a dime or the WR to make a circus catch then risk throwing over the middle and getting the safeties involved.
That's of course only if things were going well. If a pick was thrown you could be damn sure we were only throwing screens to "get the QB comfortable" again, completely ignoring the fact that we were now telegraphing the next play which further destroyed the QB's confidence.

Looks like Landis Durham has been moved to defensive line and Justin Dunning to linebacker.

I would not be surprised to see this come to fruition, but Sumlin was still adamant that Dunning is a S. The S and Nicklebacks to include Wilson and Chattman were practicing with the LBers because their are times they play closer to the line of scrimmage.

Sumlin had a woman speak to the team about alcohol/sex/sexual assault tonight. Don't think you can ever be doing too much in working to prevent something bad from happening.

Roland Martin apparently came and talked to team about Social media usage a couple weeks back.

247 is supposedly saying out for the year, hinting about retirement.

Tarp on 247 says Riley Anderson is now working at backup Center.
And Prater probably won't hold off Keaton/Lanfear for the starting LG position. Seems to be implying those guys weren't working as hard as they should, and Prater was working with the 1s to try to motivate those guys

He also threw out 15 TDs, 8 INT for Knight. Hope he can manage better than that, so much is riding on his success. And it will give Mazzone (who's already killing it with recruiting) even more credibility.

Yeah I saw that thread and those figures sort of surprised me. I was thinking around 23 TDs minimum. Idk
Posted on 8/17/16 at 11:46 pm to texag7
I think 23 is reasonable. Over the past 4 years, Mazzone's offenses have averaged 25 passing TDs per season and Sumlin's teams have averaged 33

If he's #55, that was pretty plain to see in the newest KAGS video.
