Rakeem Boyd is participating in practice today.

And Shaan looks like an actual linebacker (although standing next to Sezer might have something to do with it)

What number is Boyd?

I know that Moton is 90 and Merritt is 26.

DL drill

Our top 8 guys look beastly. Myles and Daeshon oh my word.

Moton looks like a guy who hasn't played football in 2 years

Last year, a recurring theme out of fall camp was the offense's difficulties moving the chains against our defense. That was something that persisted into the season.

Wonder what the story will be when they put on the pads and start scrimmaging?

I'm guessing our DL again causes problems for the offense. Don't think our tackles are ready for Myles/Daeshon and our DTs should be just as troublesome

It's early, but that is noteworthy that true Freshman Prater is currently first string at LG. He played there in the spring due to injuries on the line, but seems to be doing well enough to retain the spot. I hope he can deal with multiple defensive fronts, because UCLA would definitely try to confuse a Fish with alignments.

I am worried about the OL period, I guess. Lots of question marks there.

If our offense shows any kind of life against this defense I'm going to be drinking the maroon koolaid

Yeah if our OL is able to give knight time to throw, and he's accurate enough to keep the offense moving, that would be a great sign.

Shows the value of graduating early.

A little disappointed Keaton or Trevor couldn't earn their way into the starting 5. Both were highly rated guys with a full year on campus.

RSJ said he likes the up-tempo approach Mazzone is bringing, and that they are throwing the ball over the middle a lot more. Jut about passed out with joy at the office.

Sumlin: Full pads [on Friday] and Saturday will be our first major scrimmage. A chance for players to see where they are after a full week.

Sumlin: Scrimmage Saturday, then another next Saturday and then a mini-scrimmage that following Wednesday. Three chances to get into 2-deep.

Chavis is saying that this defense is bigger and faster than last year's defense.

I was expecting to hear bigger, but not faster.
