Excited about 2nd year of Chavis too. Wish it was the 2nd year of the Turner2 and Mazzone too.
Interested to see how the new scheme works for Kirk, RSJ, and Speedy. These guys are all tremendously athletic, but weren't primarily WRs in HS.

good thing they will mostly be receiving screen passes

I think Moorehead said that Kirk is much more comfortable with the deep stuff now and they plan on mixing it up. He had "glowing" remarks for Ratley again, which does make me a little nervous.

kirk going deep isnt the half of the equation we should be worried about though

But, yeah, I'm most excited for year 2 under Chavis. Defense always excites me more than offense (my favorite game as a student was a 9-6 win )
Didn't know you were around my age. That game was hype as hell. Nebraska fans are still mad af about it too.

Was an amazing game. In some sort of dream scenario, we win in similar fashion over LSU Thanksgiving night. And then move the game to T+1

If Ratley improves his drop rate, he's going to be good. He has a knack for getting open.

Certainly not holding my breath here, but the second half is correct. Hoping the drops were first year jitters, but well see.

I hope we see RSJ in beast mode like he was pre ejection

Yeah that was my and my wife's last game as students. Only time I'd ever camped out for tickets, and we got seats in the front row on the track, and got to rush the field and errthang. Coolest sports atmosphere I've ever experienced. Still get chills

ESPN picked A&M's offensive line #8 in the league and most of us posters believe that OL and LB are the team's biggest question marks.
A&M plays 5 teams with better OLs (Bama, Auburn, LSU, UT, and Arky). I listen to Arky radio and I don't think they have a better OL than A&M based on what I am hearing. Skipper is being forced back into playing LT, because they can't find anybody better. They brought T-sip Jake Raulerson in to be the OC. They also have a new OL coach.
ESPN SEC OFFENSIVE LINE RANKINGS
1. Alabama
2. Georgia
3. LSU
4. Tennessee
5. Auburn
6. Arkansas
7. Florida
8. Texas A&M
9. Ole Miss
10. Kentucky
11. Vanderbilt
12. South Carolina
13. Mississippi State
14. Missouri

I'll take middle of the pack OL when we've got top 3 receivers and top 3 overall defense

I agree. I think they can scheme around that OL with quick throws and a mobile QB, which we didn't have last year. I also believe that defenses will have to play our offense differently with this group of running backs.

And if UCLA isn't scoring because our defense is putting it to them they will play super tight on defense. Big play time.

The Pro Football Focus interview was impressive yesterday on (LINK ).
They have +/- rankings on A&M players.
Bad news- They shared this boards skepticism on the offensive line. They said Matthews was the only + player last year.
Good news
-Daylon Mack was a +22 against the run last year! The 2nd highest graded freshman DT overall and best against the run in the nation.
- Zaycoven Henderson and KeKe were also + grades. This probably illustrates that our problem against the run was either Williams and Obioha, which highlights my feelings from watching replays of the game.
-Wilson was the 4th highest graded S in the SEC (better than Watts and Evans).
-Nick Harvey almost had as many snaps as Brandon Williams. Harvey's NFL rating was 30.3 (3rd best in the nation) and % of targets completed against was 30.8% (#1 in the nation)!
- Richard Moore had the 2nd highest run stop % in the entire SEC!
- Alaka also looked great in limited sample size.
- Christian Kirk highest ratings among freshman WRs.
- Josh Reynolds had the best "deep pass" rating in the league.
- They are pretty high on Trayveon Williams
Trevor and Keith Ford-had to look at old data
-Knight excelled at intermediate throws and has one of the quickest release rates in the country (2.4 secs). This should help OL. He wasn't good at "short routes" at OU.
-Ford graded positively in 2014 with 4-5 yard avg.

It sounds like the coaches are starting to really like London at RT. I thought that this was some gamesmanship for UCLA (moving Koda to inline TE against the 3-4), but maybe they just feel more comfortable with to 5th-year seniors at tackle.
