He already holds the Texas A&M single season yards per punt record, set in 2013 at 47.4 yards. He broke Shane Lechler's 1997 record of 47.0 YPP.
His season average thus far this year is 51.6 yards per punt, which almost certainly won't hold but if it did it would be the highest average in a single season since they started keeping the stat...by over two full yards. Tom Malone holds the record at 49.0 YPP
His current career average per punt is at an even 46.0 yards per punt, which if he manages to maintain would set the all-time NCAA record for punting average in a career. For reference, Shane Lechler's career average was 44.5 YPP.
He is currently second all-time in net punting average, and sixth all-time in punts downed into the 20. He has a great chance to break that record, needing 15 more downed inside the 20 over our final eight games plus the bowl.
You might be watching, literally, the greatest punter in the history of the sport at this level.

Definitely take him for granted. Before him, Epperson was my least favorite player on the team

He's very impressive.
Didn't Lechler meet him and give him some advice or something? I seem to recall that happening.

Ranking so highly in "gross/net" AND "inside the twenty" is doubly impressive when you consider that you often must surrender significant gross yards when you "aim for the corner."
Or do they remove the punts included in latter stat from the former? Serious question.

I don't believe they do. Kaser is helped by the fact that he has a unusually high percentage of punts of 50+ yards, and has three 70+ yarders including a career long of 76. That helps offset short punts downed inside the 20. It's also worth noting that nearly 40% of his punts inside the 20 are downed inside the 10 making them a bit longer.
Also, and this is purely anecdotal, but I feel like our offense is very all or nothing. Meaning, once we get going and quickly getting first downs with the no huddle we usually score otherwise we get 0-1 first downs then punt. I would bet that when we do punt, we punt closer to our own end more often than lots of teams since Sumlin has been here.
Finally, Kaser is great at preventing returns. A&M has been top 10 in fewest total punt returns against every year he has played here. That is huge for net average along with not kicking it into the endzone. The best punters can put weird spins on their kicks making returners afraid to catch then along with great hang time.

Quietly is right. I didn't realize. Props to DK.

The best part is we have a D1 quality starter backing him up. Tripucka is a stud.
