Hope you're right. I'd like Knight and Hubes to get as much real game experience as possible.

I'm pretty sure they plan on redshirting him. I think a more important question is if we see the Red Rocket on Saturday. He needs the reps for when he takes down Bama later in the year

No, Knight and Hubes will play and maybe McQueen gets a series or two.

I think this is where I'm at, but I'd like to see what Starkel offers as well.

No.

Hoobs is more than capable.

I still think he could be servicable if something goes sideways with Knight.

I think he played pretty decently last year.

I would be surprised to see Starkel on Saturday. But I would be very interested to see a 3rd qb run out there.

Why would we burn his shirt?

No need to burn a shirt if the mediocre QB goes down. We are starting a "game manager QB" anyway, which is exactly what Hubes is. We're not going to freak out if Knight goes down. Our plans for offense this year do not depend on awe-inspiring arm strength, accuracy, or athleticism from the QB position. We are relying on a Turner coached line to open holes for talented RBs and super talented WRs to make plays while the Uber DC's defense holds the score down.

I'm not necessarily advocating for it, but you could consider burning his shirt for multiple reasons:

1. Get some live game experience (factoring in the opponent strength, it may not be much more valuable than his reps in practice, but it can still be a positive)

2. If he's good enough to help this year in case of injury (I doubt he would jump ahead of Jake later in the year, but maybe the staff feels differently)

3. In today's landscape, it seems more likely that a guy transfers out of the program than stay for his Redshirt Senior year.

4. This staff doesn't really redshirt guys. Kenny in 2013, with Johnny and Matt Joeckel on the roster, didn't redshirt. I think that's the closest approximation to the situation we're currently in.

I want to see Knight manage the offense for 5 straight scoring drives. If that takes the whole game, so fricking be it, gotdammit.

After that, Hoobastank is not a perfect QB. There are many things I wish that he could do. But he continues learning. He never meant to do those things to us. And so he needs to show before he goes. That he wants us to know, that he's found a reason for him to change who he used to be, a reason to start over Knight, and the reason is height? (Knight is too tight? he's bright? has better eyesight?).

Boobs needs some serious work in case Knight is incapacitated by injury or cerebral flatulence.

Every other position on the field should get solid 1, 2, and 3 deep work.
