There are no more excuses, no more rocks for Kevin Sumlin to hide under. This is the game that liberates us.

Nope, he'll still be the coach because of Jim fricking Wilson.

I have the same feeling I had after the 2011 Texas game, a little down but hopeful.

You're right.

Also, go frick yourself.

But you're so right.

But frick yourself again for acting a plumb fool in the game thread

Can we force Sumlin to take Hamm and Chin Pubes with him as part of his settlement?

If Chad Morris gets SMU to a bowl he'll get a hard look. The guy is beloved by Texas HS coaches and would recruit like a boss here.

The shine hasn't worn off of Herman to those in coaching circles like it has to fans. He'll go to Texas if offered though, it's his dream job.

Chad Morris is my first choice. I was just hoping he'd have a couple more seasons of experience be fore he came to us

do not want. at least not right now. i'd rather have sumlin one more season than to pull the trigger on morris. i don't care how much he "gets" a&m.

At this point you have to take a risk. Keeping Sumlin another year sets us back five, a new hire might save several years.

Our 2017 recruiting class will be average at best. If we keep Sumlin, our 2018 recruiting class will look like Baylor's does now.

Finally. It's over.

For the record my dad wants Larry Jackson fired instead, so take it fwiw.

i agree with you on those points, but i don't want to take a risk on morris. he hasn't proven anything yet. i'm sure there is a more deserving coach out there that is the smarter risk.

it's time to be ruthless. and i hope those that make decisions will be. i've been in the fire sumlin camp since we lost 59-0 to alabama. a coach that allows that to happen is never going to win anything of importance.

maybe our new ad can get petersen to switch jobs again?

Firing coordinators is what Slocum tried to save his job.

He even fired his OC mid-season in 2002.
