apologize in advance if its uncouth to call a player out here (delete if so), but what is up with him? after slimming down i thought he would have a breakout year but he seems to have regressed.

The rise of Reggie Chevis happened.

I'm wondering if the coaches got on him about guessing at the snap count, and that's resulted in slower pressure to the qb. Last season it was pretty obvious that he was just guessing and he got hit with a lot of offsides, and so far this year he hasnt had any flags I believe.
It could just be a scheme we are using too? Or how the opposing teams are choosing to attack us? I'm with you though, he's been quiet.

He appears to be double teamed in the first 2 games. Auburn had great talent, possibly elite, on the interior of the offensive line.
*Auburn had the 7th most talented team in the country according to 247.

I noticed him making a few things happening last night.

He's solid and getting better

Saw him stuff a couple of runs last night and get some pressure. Think he is doing pretty good

He's still good.
My guess is he lost too much weight in too short a period of time.
He's a good kid with good character and he's gonna put it all together.

The talented guys in the middle of a defensive line don't always make a lot of tackles. But, they draw a lot of blockers.

not following why threads like this constantly pop up on all A&M sites. He's not playing poorly. The guys in front of him are playing better.
He's a DT in his 2nd year on campus. His trajectory is not abnormal in any way to this point.

I can tell you why.
It's because last year, with Mack having been a huge recruit and with him playing as a freshman, he was a Media Storyline. They'd talk about him as an aside between plays during the broadcasts of all of our games. This year, now removed from his recruitment, and with him a sophomore, which makes his playing not so remarkable, he's not singled out for a Media Storyline. Thus, people erroneously think he isn't playing, or is playing poorly, when really he plays and does fine.

Sometimes the other team has talent and makes plays, too. In this case, Auburn's RG is Braden Smith, a guy we really wanted in the 2014 class. Smith was the #3 OG in the nation that year, and was on the 2016 ESPN Pre-Season All-SEC team.

I haven't watched many games so far this year. We keep playing at the same time. How's he been?

We've played 2 games and Prairie View. NOTHING has happened yet. Daylon Mack is just starting to blossom I'll bet.

Just 18 snaps for Daylon out of 89 plays vs Ole Miss. Hardreck Walker and Reggie Chavis both played 50% more than Mack.

Dude gets flagged at least once a game trying to jump the count. Have you been watching

he got pulled for the false start. That was an incredibly dumb penalty in an incredibly important point

He is still too reliant on cheats he worked out in high school.
