Why doesn't she post over here? She's the best poster on TexAgs.

I agree. Wish she would post here. Maybe she just prefers the faster pace over there. Plus a lot of folks don't like to split time between similar message boards, and I can understand that.

EKG has not reached Hawg's vintage.

Back to the original topic:

TFL allowed:

2014 - 5.23/game
2015 - 5.77/game (0.54/game worse)

Sacks allowed:

2014 - 2.08/game
2015 - 2.85/game (0.78/game worse)

Extrapolated across an entire season, A&M gave up 7 more tackles for loss and 10 more sacks in 2015 than it gave up in 2014.

I don't think those stats are very meaningful outside of context.

DC's problem is not his coaching ability but that he can be very difficult to get along with. He had to go. Doesn't mean he isn't a good coach and there is no reason to slam him on the way out.

But he's very highly thought of in the coaching community (and despite the expert opinions on here, so is Spav who was just hired by Sonny Dykes to be OC/playcaller). Life just isn't as black and white as many seem to want it to be.

But but but that is our favorite thing to do as Aggies. And now you say we shouldn't?! Torbush!

Seriously though I think this is yet another example of how we as a group ignore warning signs in our attempts to drink our own koolaid. When Fran got someone else to tell the players at Bama goodbye instead of doing it himself that was a clear indicator of his character:

And I think when DC went on that profane tirade at the Air Force coach when he was at Wyoming was another warning sign we ignored. It isn't mindlessly bashing the guy to look back in hindsight and say we had some warning signs that he wasn't going to work out and that maybe he was a little crazy all alone. That is where I have to give SDV credit, I myself refused to give any credence to the lack of professionalism displayed in that rant.

Spav always conducted himself as a pro, I don't think it applies to him. Mazzone doesn't have anything like that on his extensive record that I know of, which honestly makes me have more confidence in him working out.

I would not be against getting more of Mazzone's old staff to help out offfense.

I always thought we should have brought Brick Haley and/or Corey Raymond in with Chavis last year. We would have cleaned up in recruiting. Look what those two did for LSU and the sips this year.

LSU wanted Brick gone because he wasn't a good recruiter or coach, I don't think Brick had anything to do with the good DL haul that the sips had.

Spav might end up doing very well at Cal, he will face less elite defensive units that are good at stopping the run, which he seemed to always have problems with. The best defense he will face will be Stanford's and USC's.
