Daylon Mack announced he will be wearing #5 (also rooming with kyler).

Everyone make their # guesses for Slim.

I'm going 21

I think he takes more snaps on D than O, and Trey Williams wore temp #'s for special teams etc. One game i believe he was 17

I think Trey was wearing #17 when he scored that nasty-asse td vs Ole Miss in '13.

Mine too. One thing that bothered me about Trey was he could have a few jaw dropping WOW plays, but he very rarely broke a long TD run or catch. I feel like his elite level of agility and plus speed in our offense should have netted us more for his career.

Yeah it just never felt like we fully capitalized on his potential.

I suspect the staff just feels he is too good of an athlete not to be on the field more. Sort of like with Tannehill, they started him out at WR just to get him in the game.

I also read a story on 247 that Nick Harvey was rumored to be transferring to Oklahoma. Not sure what to make of that, if true.

Don't know what kind of coverage skills Williams has. But he has good speed and isn't afraid of contact. I can't fault Coach Chavis for experimenting with personnel. Obviously, what was happening before was not working.

It was a board post and most are saying it's because his girlfriend is there.

Is it really happening? What does the attrition look like for this year?

That was different. Tannehill was a QB who we wanted to get on the field. Clearly by his high level of success in the NFL he was always a QB who just happened to be good enough to play WR to play sooner. In Brandon's case he's been playing RB and been 3rd best. This was supposed to be his year (50-50 split), but it looks like they either don't believe in him at RB or just think he can be can be better at CB.

if slim was senior in high school, Chavis would recruit him at CB. Unfortunately he's a senior in college

And fail. No way you convince a 5 star running back to switch to CB.

if we knew what we do now and he was a senior he'd be rated as an athlete, not a running back. He's going to play both this year, but as a prospect he's a better cb

All my opinions but:

It's not gonna happen. Sumlin won't release him to OU, if Stoops has been communicating with him behind his back like that.

If any direct communication happened it's an NCAA violation.

If Sumlin doesn't grant the release, I don't see Nick paying his own way at OU for a year.

These kind of things happen every summer, Nick probably didn't have as good of a spring as he wanted and is afraid of getting passed up on the depth chart.
