Aggie Athletics Article
Listed as a 6'7, 220 pound SF.
Jones played high school ball at Dallas Kimble, the same school that produced Acie Law.
He was the SMU's leading scorer last year with 14 points per game (50% shooting from the field) to go along with 7.8 boards.
He was the most efficient offensive player on the team last season, posting a 108.4 offensive rating according to KenPom.com.
The word is that Jones decided to leave after disputes with Coach Larry Brown over playing time (even though he averaged over 32 mpg).
Jones will have to sit out this year but he will have two years of eligibility remaining.
This is a great pickup for the Ags.

I like your homage to FLW in your username.

This thread isn't about me or Frank Lloyd Wright.
This thread is about Billy Kennedy doing work and landing top recruits.

Love to see BK shaking up the roster like this!

Love it
But, I would really like to see BK go out and recruit some size to our roster. Our rebounding has been atrocious this season. But I'm not going to ruin this celebratory thread by finding something to bitch about
Good work coach!

Our roster could definitely use a post presence outside of Roberson. We lack the size necessary to control the boards but so far in conference play, the team has made up for this deficiency in other ways (creating turnovers, good 3 point shooting, etc.)
The only big we have on the bench is Dylan Johns, and he hasn't been on the court since conference play began. Hopefully he won't be pressed into action until he is ready---next year.
Take solace in the fact that Jalen Jones led SMU in rebounding last year and is a beast on the offensive boards.
