If I read another tribute article I'm gonna puke. What the world needs is one of his fine examples of developing close personal relationships and his inspirational speeches!

He will be missed, but not for the namby pamby crap on ESPN.

Their PR is amazing. Everybody is on board. Firing their Football, Basketball and now Baseball coaches were all the best thing ever. They even co-opt people on our board.

I bet most people in Texas still don't know A&M won the SEC baseball tournament and finished #1 overall with a top 4 seed.

After a 5-7 football season, their coach is safe and ours is on the hot seat. If Sumlin wins 10 games the next article will be him leaving for an NFL job or taking over a "better" Power 5 coaching gig.

I'm spreading the word through FB to the point I'm pretty sure all my FB friends hate me.

Agree with you, though. The Strong vs. Sumlin thing is funny as hell. We had no idea "Texas will never have a 5-loss season again" was his upper limit on success, and now they're running things in Texas? Whut? Malik was a big get for him but he still doesn't have a QB and I'll be surprised if they improve to 6 losses, though Baylor may bail them out.

I tell all my Aggie friends:

I gave up the dream of us taking over the state after Charlie's second year when the national media had higher expectations for the Texas program ("he will probably be fired") than the people running it did.

It's possible to beat this team or that team, but you aren't beating the crowd.

Ran across that while looking for Augie videos. It is indeed a classic.
"frick you, and frick me, and frick everybody."
Clear and concise.

Now I kind of want A&M to hire him.

I had several friends from HS that played D1 baseball and were recruited heavily by Texas. They all said he was the biggest fricking dickhead on the face of the planet (and a lot of major college baseball coaches are not the friendliest people)

I know of two kids specifically who UT wanted badly and didn't go there because of him. The word really got out on him in the Houston select ball circuits as he got older about how miserable it was to play for him. Definitely didn't help them these last few years

I know I harp on this every so often but this is what happens when your moronic administration thinks ROI is the end all be all and shitcans the journalism department. You want people to write nice things about Aggy and dump on the sips? fricking have a legit career path for the people who do that for a living.

I've heard RC is a bit of a dickhead as well, but clearly doesn't scare people off as much + his old players speak extremely highly of him. Then again now that I think about it, my select baseball coaches were all dicks, and the biggest dick of them all was my HS coach. I wonder why that is; they were all meaner than my FB coaches.
