Logged in to make two comments:
1) That is a nutria. My parents' place has both nutria and beavers. Beavers are actually surprisingly big in person.
2) Herman is slightly Aspergers, like Harbaugh, but with a lot of boozing thrown in too. I'm not saying he's going to fail, but he has some negative personality traits.
He's very aggressive with the players and talks to/handles them roughly. That's fine, we could use more of that, but it doesn't make for smoothe transitions.
He's also the thinnest skinned person with the media maybe ever. He cannot handle any criticism. He is unable to moderate himself or realize where boundaries are or what's appropriate/when to stop. He's had several embarrassing moments with media at just UH. So no spotlight and he couldn't handle even that. Appears to not understand how things LOOK. This goes with the observation that he drops inappropriate F-bombs and rubs people wrong with his abrasiveness - he doesn't realize how he is perceived/can't think of himself in the 3rd person.
Then there's the drinking, which makes those tendencies (meaness and lack of self awareness) worse.
He may just go in there blow the doors off. If that's the case, no one will care about these things. Winning cures all. Saban is an awful person but no one cares. But if he struggles, he's going to do a Billy Clyde and self-destruct.

Wasn't it you who two months basically posted on here that Herman was the second coming of Christ and we were dooming ourselves to decades of mediocrity by letting him go elsewhere

A lot has come out about him since then. Plus, he blew up AGAIN before UH's last game, over a nothing question, which made the super awkward Lopez interview not an isolated incident. I still think he may very well turn them around. I'm not predicting failure. I just think now that he has a lot of downside potential that I didn't recognize before he got more scrutiny.
I think most people would have a different opinions if they listened to the Lopez interview and YouTubed that blowup before the UH game this year. There's some powerful screw-loose weirdness to the guy that isn't readily apparent from his record or history.

YouTube is right, because ESPN took that video down from their website shortly after he got hired.

So Shane has LSU posters pulling up quotes from years ago about speedy

I've always said LSU posters are the worst posters on tRant. They love to dish shite out but can't eat it when it gets served back to them. I'd be willing to wager that more LSU fans have hit the RA button this year alone than all other fanbases combined...all-time.

Well it is their site.

Third, there is a thread in the politics board that would be GREATLY enhanced by your presence

I would be a little surprised if that board isn't at least loosely monitored by federal law enforcement

For a good laugh you can watch the Sips losing to Kent State in basketball on ESPNU.

I haven't watched or followed them at all this year...how in the hell are they THAT bad?

No idea. Must have lost some upperclassman talent, or Smart is just that overrated.

Kubiak stepping down for health reasons, is he taking a year off to rest up for the call back to CS next December?
