Damn, here I thought it was Sumlin's and Kennedy's faults. Fire Gabe and Olin before it is too late.
The Brandon Jones piece was a bit weird, I'll give ya that. Gabe started describing it before it was available and had texters basically telling him "don't count your chickens before the eggs are hatched". And he responded that it wasn't about an Aggie recruit specifically, it was about the recruiting process and all a recruit goes through. Umm... yeah sure it was.

Can someone please provide cliff notes of the LSU situation? Busy day yesterday, and IDK what information from the 500 troll threads that I need to run with lol.

They have a program called TOPS that gives out full rides as well spending money to instate students for public state schools based on grades and standardized test scores. Their budget situation is such that they've announced they're stopping payments on it.
Not sure if that's 100% correct since I don't know much about TOPS but that's what I gathered from the news story I read

LSU Football should "secede" and become self sufficient. I realize that's not possible, but it would be hilarious if the biggest money maker gave a middle finger to the system and said good luck.

There's a bit more to it than just TOPS.
LSU football program could be shut down this fall, Louisiana governor says
It's not that the football team is a money pit. It of course is a big money maker. Louisiana government is way underfunded, and the governor says that if this isn't corrected they'll be forced to, among other things, shut down classes at the state universities, LSU included. No classes -> no eligibility -> no football team.
The crazy thing to me is shutting down LSU is only important to so many because there won't be football. The guv is just pandering, though. They'll find a way.
