So strange. I was just about to do this thread, but decided not to.
While 2014 looks nice, we all know the wheels fall off and the numbers don't loos so good by the end of it. I feel comfortable saying 2016 = best production from the QB spot since Johnny.

IMO... Johnny in 2012 was also blessed with easily the best run defense we have had since joining the SEC. We had a pretty stout run defense. Our pass defense was not good as evidenced by the shootout vs La Tech in Shreveport.
Just an observation.

That's also deceptive.
We only played 3 good teams in the 2012 regular season and lost to 2 of them. (Florida, LSU)
4 out of the first 7 teams we've played this season would mercilessly rape most of our 2012 schedule.

State and La Tech were okay. They both struggled down the stretch.

Are you saying the 2012 team did or didn't have easily the best run defense of any team we have had since joining the SEC? To be clear, I said we were not good at pass defense in 2012 that's why La Tech scored in the 50s.
Our 2012 defense was pretty good against the run. Our pass defense was poor... basically a continuation of our last year in the Big 12. SEC teams in 2012 not geared toward our weakness in the secondary. La Tech and then Ole Miss were the best 2 passing teams we faced.

Can you imagine if we had Mike Evans this year

We wouldn't get him the ball too?
I'll take it a step further...imagine if we had JFF this year, and Mazzone made him run more?

I would settle for Tannehill or a healthy Johnson.

adding Mike Evans to this team would be better than adding Johnny

No Sir. No matter how great Evans would be, he still couldn't solve Trevor's inaccuracy. A semi accurate QB who still has Trevor's run game is the thing to turns this offense into something special.

Look, jff is a frick-up, But that boy balled out for the fighting Texas Aggies. I love Evans, but there's no chance he would have the ability to impact the game like a qb of johnnys caliber. If you were to tell me you'd take Evans over Allen, then yeah I'm with ya.

I take Knight over Allen.

If we had Johnny, we're undefeated. If we have any other QB of the last 30 years, we're probably 6-2 or 5-3.
TK's mobility, strength, and decision-making far outweigh his ability to hit a precision 20 yard crossing route.
Not that it wouldn't be great to have him throw a few darts, too.

Reggie would have balled in this offense.
