Writers opinions vs. Actual titles.

Which is more valid?

Winning titles in a shitty league vs. doing well in the best league.

Which is better?

I'll assume you're in the camp that wants to tuck tail and go back to the big 12.

The Big 12 from 1997-2002 was better than the SEC.

A. Six teams from the SEC would have won the national championship game in Bama's place in 2012. The SEC was nasty that year.

B. The years that Slocum didn't do better than 11th?

The only difference between Slocum's record in the Big 12 and Sumlin's record is bowl wins.

Give Sumlin R.C.'s conference record and there's no hot seat talk.

Give R.C. Sumlin's bowl and nonconference record and we never hire Fran.

Besides the obvious fact that we were playing in the SWC back then, let's take a detailed look at those years:

92- 2nd place team was a 7-5 Baylor, no one else in the conference had less than 5 losses
93- 2nd place team was a 5-5-1 Texas, no other team with less than 5 losses
94- 2nd place team was a 8-4 Texas, no other team with less than 5 losses

Yeah, that was a huge accomplishment.

We didn't win the conference in 1994.

1991, 1992, 1993.

I deleted my post because I didn't understand the post I quoted, but 3 consecutive top 10 finishes is a huge accomplishment no matter what conference you play in
