As I let my subscriptions expire in the offseason - this place is all I got. Any noteworthy information out there? Any other transfers? Moore and Jeffery have been rumored, haven't seen anything official about that.
Anyway wanted to start a thread for Spring ball.

This place is depressing AF these days.

I guess I don't fit in here. I don't have very high expectations for next season, but damned if I won't be paying attention. Can't really help it. Anyway, continue with the trolling and nonsense posts.

We're a healthy mix of texags sunshine pumping and Junction toxic cynicism.

I just can't bring myself to give a shite other than to check if somebody got hurt. We all know what's going to happen next year

Yep, this board is a perfect microcosm of the entire program/fan base in general. There's no excitement, no energy. Losing quite a few guys that will get drafted this year plus having to break in a new QB doesn't look good for the upcoming season.
It is what it is, but I've been fooled 3 years in a row now. I'll be damned if I let them fool me a 4th time so I'm going in with no expectations, cares, or anything else until I can see Sumlin actually finish a season with momentum (won't happen, has never happened without a QB named Manziel starting for him during his time at A&M) or he's fired and we bring in someone else to manage the program. The resources are there, we need someone to quit squandering them away.

You're waiting on TMC to post his pretty accurate opinions of the spring game.

It's not that there's no energy, it's that all the energy is devoted to melting.
I expect a 6-6 season but still care

You have to have energy to melt. I haven't even watched the last two basketball games or last three baseball games because I simply didn't care.

I agree. It's a pretty accurate representation of the mood of the fanbase. This board is really not more negative than our fans at large are right now.
Can anyone blame us?
Look what happened to us in 2012 and then what happened to us after. It's been psychologically traumatizing.
In 2012 we had a new head coach, a new QB and were starting our first year in the best league in America, where we were supposed to get our asses kicked. Instead, we got a breakout star at QB, beat Bama at Bama, won the Heisman, went on to hydrogen bomb OU to ashes in the Cotton Bowl, and the whole country acknowledged that at season's end that team would have beaten anyone and was probably the real national champion. That off-season our recruiting went stratospheric and we announced that we were expanding the stadium to 100+.
Most of us concluded at that point that we were on our way. We had finally shed our Aggyness. At long last, our centuries of wandering in the desert were over. Sumlin and Johnny, the messiah and his apostle had delivered us.
But it wasn't so. Since then, we've slowly backslid into our old incompetent, mediocre, let-down selves again. Worse and worse every year. It's the fan equivalent of being one of the victims in Hostel. Just torture.
To think the misery was finally over only to be drug back into the pit? Way worse than if we'd have come in and started off 4-8. Then we could at least be fans of a hard luck underdog scrappy program. Instead, we're fans of a perpetual underachiever. It's too much for a lot of people who have just said "frick it".

I disagree.
Granted this is anecdotal, but from dealings in day-to-day life, the people I usually have in depth conversations with concerning Aggie athletics simply don't bring it up anymore. Most of my friends/family/co-workers are beyond melting and have turned towards apathy, I know I have to a certain extent. And it's not just because we are in the off-season for football.
Just use this board as a small sample size, there is far less action here than in the past.

I have really become apathetic, especially with our basketball team being so terrible and baseball probably not being much better.
I haven't even worn an aTm visor out and about in a while.
TAMU has made it really difficult to care.

These past three seasons really changed how I view sports. That sounds like hyperbole, but sports in general now give me about as much emotional turmoil as the average tv show. And I have Kevin Sumlin to thank for that. I certainly care (hell I'm here now), but it's purely a hobby now.

Until KS is gone my fandom can be summed with three letters.......Meh.

Yep. Same here. No one I used to talk Aggie sports with even wants to bring it up anymore. Again, anecdotal, but when everyone has the same anecdote...
Where there used to be excitement, or hope, or frustration, or anger, there's now just "meh".
After these past three seasons, I put watching A&M play football on the same level of importance as watching Gold Rush or The Curse of Oak Island. It's just another of my "man shows" that I veg out to.

How much of a shot does Kellen Mond have at starting?
