Sounds like as long as Sheffield is clear to come to A&M compliance wise we should be able to land him. Update from 247 basically said our compliance department is working on it and Sheffield has been in contact with Sumlin.
I'm not sure what the compliance issue is because I thought he was free to transfer since he was a full qualifier and would be coming from JUCO.

Interesting article on 247 about 3 2017 QB commits that could start next season. They list Hunter Johnson, Kellen Mond, and Jack Sears. Mond and Sears were 2 of the QBs that Mazzone went after, even though A&M had Tate Martell.

With OU and tu getting bootyblasted today, I have no idea how we don't have the pick of the litter of defensive recruits in Texas. You can play for Chief who can take a RB and turn him in to a NFL corner in a year, or you can play for a team that got bent over for 50 by a team that lost to San Diego fricking State. God damn we have no excuse right now.

it's like we're getting a mulligan after fricking up on so many fronts last year. gotta take advantage.
getting stidham and sheffield is a really big deal.

I've seen mention of Stidham/Sheffield to us multiple times. Are either of them giving indication that they want to play here? Or is it just hopeful thinking?

i haven't heard much, but then again i'm not on top of everything. perfect landing spot/situation for both.

A&M didn't frick up. These kids fricked up for going to OU, Oregon, UCLA and Baylor. Now players like Ford, Willis, Merritt, Williams, and Carson are young men and making better choices the second time around.

the way we handled allen and murray was a disaster and it hurt our recruiting last year. getting stidham and sheffield would put us on serious footing for 2017.
we don't have, nor will we recruit, a qb who will be as good as stidham in 2017. can't have too many 5 star cbs.

Getting 2 5* QBs (Allen and Murray) on campus at the same time is a product of great recruiting and timing...not poor recruiting. Keeping them all happy is another issue.
The staff still recovered with Nick Starkle, Trevor Knight and potentially Kellen Mond and Blumrick. This is a "dead horse" topic that needs to be put to rest.
Knight has already beaten Auburn, which is more than Skyler could accomplish.

Skyler got mentally eaten alive. For all the (granted, to some extend valid) crap we give to Knight for being a cowboy or streaky under pressure, he took on Auburn like a MAN.

i'm not knocking knight by any stretch. i'm glad he's our qb, just saying the way we handled allen and murray hurt us in recruiting the 2016 class. stidham and sheffield would make up for that and then some. i think you took one of my previous posts the wrong way.
not saying we'd be better at qb with either of them instead of knight. i really, really like knight as our qb.
this team needed a leader and there's probably not a qb out there that fits the bill better. he's also a solid player who could end up being great for us as the season goes along.

The coaches are very high on Starkel. Blumrick is probably a rs but we'll have Starkel, Mond, and Hubenak next year and we're pretty happy with Fortin for '18.
We're keeping up with Stidham just in case but they don't seem to feel QB is as pressing as the fans do

It's not so much that we need Stidham, but we DON'T need him going to another SEC school like Auburn or LSU for example.
