Contrast the way Sumlin has handled adversity to the way Les Miles has handled it.

What adversity? He only has to recruit against Tulane, LA Tech, and Tulane in-state. LSU couldn't raise enough money to fire him. Media pumped him up as if he actually accomplished something this year. He didn't have to do anything.

Actually that isn't true.

Actually the media was too busy bashing the fans and the AD.

Actually for the majority of our recruits they had to fend off a lot of other programs.

It's completely beside my point that the constant whining hurts the program.

I dont agree with this thought process. And this isn't directed just at you pat, because you aren't the only one that feels this way.

Acting like a&m fans and their online dissatisfaction is any different than other major fanbases is pretty silly. For example, If Bama had the same results as us the past couple of years, lost two high profile qb's and ended up missing on quite a few big in-state recruits that were leaning their way at one time...their fanbase would be going crazy too. Every major fanbase flips out on message boards and online when their teams suck. And the constant whining is present, because there's legitimate things to complain about. IMHO.

I've no problem with legitimate gripes. The crap that went on today, going absolutely crazy over a HS Jr's obscure tweet, is not one of those legitimate gripes. And our griper-in-charge has already come up with the "yeah, but".

The very fact that the scenario in question could even be considered legitimate by anyone shows how poorly the coaching staff has been able to handle ANY sort of adversity.

Should staff contact Martell to let him know they were offering another quarterback?

I like the new strategy. Ignore then recruit late in the process, as opposed to recruit then ignore.

does every major fanbase have fans that will accuse the HC of being a serial philanderer, a massive drunk, a coke head, and claim that we have pictures that will allow him to be fired with cause?

b/c that happened with ours and anyone who thinks that wasn't picked up on and used against A&M in recruiting is lying to themselves.

Just like somebody forgot to invite Devin Duvernay last year. People on that staff need to be fired.

Most likely, yeah.

Especially if any of it is true.

Stuff like this doesn't even surprise me anymore. Sumlin couldn't convince a chicken to lay a mf egg

I don't believe they forgot anything. Devin made it clear he would only go to a school if they offered his brother. Sumlin's staff normally stays away from "package deals". Both Mike Divinity and Greedy tried to force A&M into these deals this year. I believe the sips said this was also going on with Pat Hudson and his sister (Track and Field).

No, this came over from the sip board and we are probably the dumbest fanbase in the world for perpetuating this mess.

Things started going really south on the sip boards this year and their fan base started going ballistic and wanting to fire Strong and hire Tom Herman. Some members of our fanbase "freaked" out and thought that we needed to hire Herman before the sips did, especially after the loss of the QBs in December. These posters started perpetuating bad rumors from sip site, because they thought it would help give the administration ammo to fire Sumlin for cause.

This negative fanbase probably caused the staff an opportunity at few players this year. I referenced this in regards to Kristian Fulton. It probably hurt us on Greedy, Cam Lewis, and Blacklock too.

Did Fulton ever reciprocate the interest from A&m? Didn't think yall were ever on him.

Eh A&m was always on the outside looking in from the beginning. But no, probably didn't help.

But think about LSU fans when it comes to recruiting. The way they act you would think we would push kids outs all the time but coaches can talk recruits out of letting what the fans say persuade them pretty easily. Take Dylan Moses for a good example, him and his Dad took to social media to talk about how disrespectful the LSU fans were and he said "I'll just have Dylan scratch LSU off his list"
Fast forward to last week and Dylan has been recruiting for LSU since he got to IMG.

Let's be honest though, our fans are more obnoxious and more numerous.

There's zero chance Aggies are more obnoxious than lsu fans, and I imagine they have more fans too, maybe not alumni, but fans. The majority of Louisiana natives are lsu fans I imagine.
