No reason to move Hill up a day in addition to it already being up a day with the delay last weekend. I like keeping him on Friday.

My vote would be for Larkins or Ivey (assuming he's back to near 100%).

I don't see it at 12thmanfoundation.com. Is that where you're seeing it?

PROBABLE PITCHING MATCHUPS
• THURSDAY: #23 Turner Larkins (So., RHP, 2-0, 2.00 ERA) vs. #24 Jordan Sheffield (So., RHP, 7-2, 2.29 ERA)
• FRIDAY: #15 Brigham Hill (So., RHP, 5-0, 2.03 ERA) vs. #44 Kyle Wright (So., RHP, 5-3, 2.11 ERA)
• SATURDAY: #14 Kyle Simonds (Sr., RHP, 7-1, 2.83 ERA) vs. TBA

TELEVISION Thursday - ESPN2 • Friday & Saturday - SEC Network • Tom Hart (play-by-play), Chris Burke (color analyst)

So Larkins gets thrown in to the mix. He is going to need a huge performance to match up with Sheffield.

Also we get Chris Burke. He is one of the better analyst if I am remembering correctly.

I'd have selected Larkins too. But I am concerned that he hasn't started a game this year. How long can he reasonably be expected to go?

My biggest issue with Vines is he's only gone 6 or more once in his last five starts. It's taxed the bullpen to the point that Sundays we constantly are asking ourselves....who do we have left?

If Larkins can't get us some innings tomorrow, we may be asking that question as early as Friday

Brain fart on my part, I guess. I had not logged in, so that link kicked me back to a generic page.

So I've put in a request for Omaha tickets, though the "priority points" disclaimer doesn't make me optimistic.

Well Larkins had his issues with pitch counts last year if I remember correctly. He almost never went deep. This year he has only thrown 18 innings and I believe his longest was 3-1/3 vs UTA last week. That is to be expected since he was nursing an injury and not starting. Versus a very good Vandy team I would expect to get 4-5 from him and anything more than that is gravy.

It is time to start looking for help.

MU @ MSU
UF @ UT
USC @ UK
OM @ UGA

Any upset helps us vs other SEC contenders (conference crown) and national seed contenders (thought process is only so many from the SEC will get national seeds).

I wish I'd saved the Boyd's needs report from yesterday. I think we needed to win 6 of our remaining 11 to remain in top 8 and like 10 of 11 to stay in top 16. Today, simply by not playing IW it's...

Texas A&M

Remaining: 7 home, 3 road, 0 neutral
Current RPI: 5
ROWP: 0.736

Top 16:
No more wins needed.

Top 8:
2 home wins, 2 road wins
3 home wins, 1 road wins
4 home wins, 0 road wins

btw, I keep posting about top 8 but just to remind everyone,,we've finished in the top 8 twice in the last 5 years and not gotten a national seed either time

So obviously that's not a lock or anything. I think if we finish outside the top 8, we're probably screwed though

If we don't win 4 games, we are definitely screwed.

yep, thats why we have to just take care of business and remove all doubt the next 3 weeks. They always find some reason to screw us since we aren't a blue blood of baseball.

I really don't get the everybody is out to get us attitude our fanbase has. I don't like the logic, but there is definitely logic as to why we've missed both times.

Last year for instance, we went 1-3-1 in our last 5 series. Our best series win (and pretty sure only one vs a tourney team) all year was vs Auburn who went 13-17 in SEC play. We didn't have a series win vs any team that had a winning record in the SEC.

Defending national champ Vanderbilt finished with a better SEC record, beat us in semi in Hoover, and also didn't get a national seed. Only the regular season champ (LSU) and the tournament champ (UF) did. That's life in the SEC. You have to take care of business because there is no margin of error.

---------
In a lot of ways, I think our season last year is pretty similar to SC's this year. SC swept Ole Miss but otherwise hasn't won a series vs a top 50 opponent (1-3-1 vs top 50 RPI). It's why I'm hesitant to mark them in the national seed column just yet.

They lose to A&M and you have to start wondering about the top end resume. Imagine if they go 5-4 but lose the series to us, they'll be 20-9 in SEC play with about a 6 rpi and only one series win vs a likely tourney team.

Is that good enough in a world where the committee is looking for any reason to exclude yet another SEC team?

great. Unsure how long Larkins can really go and in the first inning the umpire is already squeezing him
